Charming cottage - the online pictures do not do it justice. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. The hosts left a welcome pack and a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. The little garden is lovely. The village is quiet with 2 good pubs and it was a pleasure to spend the week there.

A lovely cottage with character for the two of us. Upstairs, very nicely presented. Stairs need care when using. Kitchen good enough for purpose. Decent size tv but it doesn't get all the Freeview channels we are used to at home. However I had taken a Chromecast and was able to use the internet for programmes. Time to replace the lounge chairs (not expensive if bought from a charity shop) as they have seen better days. Carpet needs a clean, especially as this is a dog-friendly cottage. Bonus that there is now wi-fi as mobile phone signal not present and required a walk down the road. Two pubs but no shop in village. Ripon accessible and also Fountains Abbey, both worth a visit. Will use again if we return to Yorkshire. This was our second stay.

Beautiful location. Lovely little cottage although not really big enough for 4 and a tight squeeze for all of us to relax comfortably on the furniture provided. Lovely little courtyard. Greal local pubs but no local shop. Loved Bishop Monkton.

Really enjoyed a peaceful break in this lovely cottage in a quiet picturesque village near lots of historic sites, pretty towns, and great walks. The only downside was that the shower temperature was too erratic to let the children use it.

Was the 2nd time my friend and i have styed in the cottage .We both we felt the lounge needs updating As we are a old people we had trouble watching tv as it was small .I couldn t read the subtiltles at all . we don t go our in the evening so that was a big thing for us .I realize this wont be a problem for younger folks . If the two things could be updated we would defiatley go again .

Great little cottage in a lovely village, only downside is there is no village shop now, but as morrisons is just a very short journey away this isn't really much of a problem. The stairs that were mentioned in a lot of reviews posed no problem to me or my husband, it would be great to sit in the back having a cup of tea but as it was raining when we were there we weren't able to try this out but all in all it was a great place to stay for a holiday and there was so much to do in the area you could never be bored

Glenroyd cottage is quaint & very comfortable. It has a very well-equipped kitchen & a lovely courtyard garden. The lounge is cosy with a TV & video player & good Wi-Fi. The bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of storage & the bathroom looks recently renovated. The stairs are steep so may be difficult for the less mobile. The fresh flowers ,milk & a bottle of wine in the fridge was a lovely touch. All-in-all I would definitely recommend a stay here.
