    Wonderful! Superbly clean.extremely well-equipped.Super comfortable beds and quality bedding.peaceful and very friendly village.Owners very friendly but not intrusive.There are no shops at all in the village but this all added to the tranquility of the area.very friendly village tea room though.

    We had a very pleasant time visiting the various sites relating to Hadrian's Wall and the Roman occupation of the area along with other places of interest such as The Beamish Open Air Museum which was within an easy car drive of Glen Garth. The house also gave us a good base from which to spend a couple of nights in the Lake District. The house was very comfortable and well equiped. The owners, who live nearby were most friendly and helpful. The Samson Inn, just a three minute walk away, is a good place both to eat and drink.

    Glengarth is lovely bungalow which is ideally situated for walking Hadrian's Wall. Judith, the owner had left wine & milk in the fridge which was very welcome! She was on hand if needed (but not intrusive) and obviously wanted to ensure we had a good holiday & that we were comfortable. There was an abundance of hot water and heating was at the flick of a switch. Judith obviously cares about the local environment as she encouraged recycling & has solar panels in the roof of the bungalow. The train runs along a line at the bottom of the garden but you wouldn't really know as you only hear it occasionally, probably because the gardens are so large & full of bushes & shrubs. There is ample (extremely safe) parking in the grounds of the bungalow. The village has a pub The Samson Inn which serves a lovely Sunday lunch & a tea room 'The House of Meg' which does wonderful sandwiches & delicious cream teas!! Both only a ten minute walk from Glengarth. The walk from the bungalow along the wall to Birdoswald Roman Fort is lovely as is the walk to the Sill (National Landscape Discovery Centre) The popping Stones at Irthing Gorge are within walking distance as is The Crammell Lin Waterfall. Hexham is a lovely market town a short drive away & Haltwhistle (10 minute drive) has a small Sainsbury's.

    One of the best cottages we've ever stayed at, the cottage had plenty of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans, towels, pillows, toilet rolls, liquid soap etc., etc., it was just like being at home! The beds were comfortable, the sofas were comfortable, big bright rooms, clean, family friendly and the water makes the best cup of tea ever!! Great location (quite high up so spectacular views) and a great base for Keilder Water/Forest, Northumberland National Park, Carlisle etc., and lots of history right on the doorstep. I took my two young boys (8 & 9) and they absolutely loved it, playing badminton and football in the huge garden, walking around the local area, and cycling on the quiet country lanes - their first time on roads and hills! The owners live a few doors down and are absolutely lovely people, greeted shortly after arrival with a super warm welcome and a brief history of the area then left to relax and chill in their beautiful cottage. We are looking forward to a return visit.

    We had a fantastic time here. The location is ideal - handy for all local attractions, and 5 mins walk from a nice local pub which has good food and friendly staff. The cottage is beautiful and the huge garden is fantastic with good parking. We met the owner who was very friendly helpful and understanding and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable.

    This was exactly as described. We were collected from the station by the owners who were very friendly and extremely helpful but not pushy. The cottage was lovely, the beds were comfy. The gardens were beautiful and we were right on the wall, what more could one ask for? I would definitely recommend and stay there again.
