Description

Explore the Millennium Coastal Path, which leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB).

Nestled peacefully down a quiet lane in the small village of Llangennech, this pet-friendly, traditional, detached former barn has been restored to a very good standard, with a private patio and garden with a gas BBQ, making it a perfect touring base for a family or couple looking to explore west Wales. ‘Glanmwrg Fawr’ has retained much of its original charm, character and lots of welcoming touches have been added, such as wi-fi and a large freesat TV with DVD player. Adjoining the owner’s home, and tastefully decorated throughout with spacious living areas and disabled facilities available, the access is wheelchair friendly and on the ground floor there is a walk-in bath with a removable hydraulic bath seat, and a bedroom has adjustable beds. The holiday home boasts a large games room with all the facilities to entertain the family during inclement weather. The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Large living room with gas coal-effect fire, French doors and wooden floor. Spacious dining room with wooden floor. Farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden floor. Games room. Double bedroom with 6ft bed. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room and toilet; one with 6ft zip and link bed (can be twin beds on request).

Enjoyed this short break, the cottage was ideal for us and our two dogs, very spacious with everything you could possibly want and one of the best welcome packs we have ever had. We had come to the area to do a recce for a holiday next year and will be returning. The village has pubs, takeaways and shops for your everyday things a 10 minute walk away. Llanelli is a short drive with Beaches, coastal walks. The Gower is about 40 min drive. What a great break we had.

As a seasoned holiday cottage renter over the past 20+ years I can easily confirm that Glanmwrg Barn is one of the best I have ever stayed in! Lots or room, filled to the brim with everything you need including those essentials such as toilet roll, washing up liquid etc... and in a great location for exploring South Wales We had amazing weather all week but if inclement then the games room offered hours of indoor options and fun and caters for the older teenager which is often a problem. Lovely safe private garden which got the sun all day and also allowed our dog lots of outside time. Great pub, takeaways and supermarket within walking distance and in all these places the locals were super friendly! Great base for days out with Mumbles, Kidwelly Castle and Berry Port being our favourite! Overall amazing property with really friendly owners who welcome you and leave you a fab basket of goodies! All local supermarkets deliver and to be honest I have nothing negative to feedback! Brill week - thank you Marian & Chris!

The cottage was lovely and had all we needed. We booked it so that we could take our dog with us but there weren't any long walks in the village. This wasn't too much of a problem as the cottage was a great place to use as a base for day trips out.

Very well appointed cottage. Owners extremely nice and very welcoming, and its is dog friendly. Centrally situated for beaches and shops, it was the perfect break for me, my family and our two dogs. The games room was great, fully used on the one day the weather was bad. Would definitely stay again.

Glanmwrg is a lovely light, spacious property. The owners have definitely gone the extra mile to ensure that comfort is top in respect of the furniture and beds. We were welcomed with a very generous "welcome" tray. There was everything you could want in Glanmwrg to make our stay most enjoyable.

Just spent a lovely weekend here for our daughters 10th birthday. Wow. The place just keeps going on and on. Everything you need is there and more. Lovely milk, bread, butter, cheese and tomatoes left for us in a hamper. We will definitely be coming back.
