This converted detached stone barn has a contemporary feel and offers good holiday accommodation situated in a rural location accessed by a no-through lane. It is only minutes from the centre of the old market town of Wirksworth. Originally a village in its own right, Bolehill became part of Wirksworth during the town’s expansion during the 19th and 20th centuries. Bolehill is adjacent to Black Rock, a local landmark and a short walk from the High Peak Trail. You can take the footpath directly from the doorstep of the property into Wirksworth, where you will find antique shops, restaurants, pubs, gift shops and local market. You can also walk to the High Peak Trail, where you can walk or cycle for miles. Matlock, Matlock Bath and the World Heritage Site of Arkwrights Mills are only 3 miles away. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Carsington Reservoir are all within an easy reach. The property is an ideal base from which to explore this stunning area. Shops, pubs and restaurant 0.3 miles.

    Stayed over Easter weekend when the weather could have been better, still managed several of the local sights and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the well equipped and comfortable cottage. Highly recommend!

    We really enjoyed our stay - meeting up with friends for the weekend. We loved the position and being able to take the footpath into town was a great advantage when people wanted a pub evening and didn't want to drive. The living room and kitchen were excellent but we all found the bedrooms a little small. It was spotless and beautifully warm. We would certainly consider another booking.

    Great location, lovely property. The owners have made a real effort to make the property comfortable and relaxing. The only issue we had was the underfloor heating failed to work, and it was a very cold weekend. We had no kindling or matches for the woodburner, but the owners did arrange a couple of electric heater very quickly.

    Fantastic barn convention ...stayed there for 2 nights for a birthday treat ...would definitely come back ! Bottle of wine on arrival lovely gesture! Log fire was stunning ...

    We only stayed 3 nights and although we did have some trouble finding the property (turn right at the telephone box would have helped greatly) its location was very pleasant with an enclosed garden and local walks. It was quite a cold few days during our stay and unfortunately the underground floor heating was either inefficient or not working at all. We needed to keep the wood burning stove alight from first thing in the morning to last thing at night just to stay warm. The upstairs radiators worked well. We did report this to the local contact but was unable to help improve the situation. A couple of convector heaters would be a useful backup for this situation. In summer I'm sure this would be an excellent cottage.

    It should be made clear that the access to the Barn is limiting if you have a wide vehicle or a vehicle with low ground clearance. Other than that it is a delightful situation. It's in a good position to explore the Peak District.

    Great location, feels like you're away from it all but in fact you're a five minute walk from Wirksworth, its shops and other amenities. Lots of walks from the doorstep too, as a footpath runs right by the enclosed garden. A sympathetic renovation, good log burner underfloor heating and a well appointed kitchen. We loved it and so did our dogs!

    A wonderful house, an excellent location, great for meeting up with family, friends and the dog. Close to a town ( down a good path) but yet feels like in the middle of nowhere! Delightful!
