If you want a quiet holiday cottage away from any hustle and bustle then this is the place. You are surrounded by fields and farms and a complete absence from busy traffic. However, if you want local amenities like wi-fi, local shops and restaurants then you'll be disappointed. Travel into Durrow for a good evening meal at the hotel and shops. This is a good base for exploring central Ireland and beyond. The owner was very pleasant and looked after our every needs. On arrival (early evening), she sent round some bread as there was none in the house. As with just about every cottage we've rented, the shower was woefully awful, barely a trickle of water, but the bath was much better. This property has a fantastic wood burner, which we used quite a bit, even though it was mid summer (hey this is Ireland) We chose this cottage for the location and by the photo on the web page. Perfect.
