With stunning views over Bath and all its fascinating attractions including the original Roman Baths and Spa.

This holiday cottage has an excellent location raised above the city of Bath. Superb views over the Georgian architecture and abbey can be enjoyed from various secret seating areas in the delightful pretty garden. Local amenities and pubs are within a few minutes’ walk, and the city is easily reached, though the return is inevitably uphill in places! Bath is a vibrant cultural city with many attractions: famous ones include the Roman Baths and Spa, the sweeping crescents, the magnificent abbey, Pulteney Bridge and weir, and the Aquae Thermae Spa with rooftop open air pool. There are many galleries, museums, theatres and parks, and a vast array of restaurants, cafes and unique individual shops. Walks and boat rides can be taken at the River Avon and the Kennet and Avon canal, both of which run through the city. Just outside the city the American museum is a popular attraction. Further afield there is Cheddar Gorge and caves, Longleat Safari Park, Stonehenge, Glastonbury and Wells. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage. It was on a very steep hill so we walked into town and took a taxi back. This meant we went out for the day and didn’t come back until evening. The owners kindly supply a pint of milk, sachets of coffee and teabags and as they live next door getting the key was very easy.

Only gave 8 for location because property is up a bit of a steep hill which wouldn't suit everyone. The main town easy to walk to, just depends how energetic you are for the walk back!

Well situated for exploring the city of Bath, you must be able to walk up quite steep hills though, but that's Bath.....

Our group - ladies on a shopping trip - had a great stay at Garden Villa. The accommodation was perfect for our group in terms of layout and facilities. It was clean, well presented and well provisioned with everything we needed to cater and entertain ourselves. Being so close to nice pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and the town centre made it an ideal location for everything we wanted to do in Bath - and we didn't need to move our cars once. The only slight problem is the limited parking (for one car only), but given the above it turned out to be fine.

A short 3 night stop to visit family. We know Bath well. Full of interest. Good food, theatre, architecture, history. Something for everyone. The city centre is OK on foot, but 15 minutes out to Garden Villa, needs a few breathers. We are in our mid 70s and play plenty of golf! A comfortable stay and would certainly recommend family and friends to book Garden Villa.

Very nice cottage but also very inaccessible if you are not extremely fit. The description on the site gives the impression that you can park next to the cottage. You can't. You have to park down some very steep steps then an eaven steeper incline. Lugging bags up and down was exhausting. Walk into bath took longer than 10 minutes as described. Did not see owners all week and there was no one there when we left so posted keys through there letterbox. Garden, although very nice, was not big enough for our grandchildren, 11 and 6, to play ball games in. Bath is very busy traffic wise. Taxis however we're very reasonable to get back up to the cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your revoo - however there seems to have been a misunderstanding. We the owners of Garden Villa both met you outside when you arrived and my husband was the person who carried your luggage up to the bungalow when you expressed concern about the slope. He then accompanied you inside to give a brief explanation of how everything worked. We do our best to make guests welcome with flowers, tea, coffee, milk in the fridge, biscuits etc. but also try to respect privacy. Everyone knows that we live next door and can be contacted easily and my husband responded instantly to your concern that there might be a problem with the heating. Fortunately there was not and everything proved to be in good working order. The garden is accurately described on the website as pretty with seating areas and when you mentioned your intention of bringing a football, I printed out information about a nearby park which is excellent for ball games as well as details of other activities which might appeal to active boys. The distance to this side of town is approx 0.6 km although walking times depend on levels of fitness. We offer very accessible parking for one car on this private road. The bungalow is on a hill as is most of Bath and this is made clear in the details and on the advisory notes

Clean, comfortable, well equipped cottage. Well located within easy walking distance of Bath Center. Easy to walk to Morrisons for supplies and local shops also handy. Beautiful views from some of the rooms. Garden where we could sit out. Parking always available, although the nearest spot was up a rather tricky hill. OK for my elderly mother, but would have been a problem if she could not do 15 steps to front door. Once inside ideal for a frail person as bed room just next to bath room. Owners were welcoming and helpful and lived just next door, so would have been on hand had we had any problems.
