A little hidden gem. Behind a row of garages, but the garden enjoyed the weekend sun in the garden. Small but comfy for 3.

We were attending a function in Lewes and decided it would be an opportunity to explore the area. The weather was indifferent initially but soon settled and there were plenty of dry days, albeit quite cold and windy! Bus to Brighton was great - enjoyed another visit to the Pavilion and the Gingerman restaurant is highly recommended. Great visit to Charleston, home of members of Bloomsbury group. Rottingdean itself rather disappointing - suffers in comparison with Brighton, of which it is now really a suburb - but there is an excellent butcher and an excellent greengrocer/grocer plus the ubiquitous Tesco local.

Our third time here, and we love it. Arrived at end of “Beast from the East” weather, outside temperature was -3 degrees, inside Garden Cottage was 23 degrees. Hope to come again soon.

A lot of thought and attention to detail makes this cottage home from home. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would return again definitely. However there were a couple of things that could have made a difference for us. The handrail on the stairs is very noisey when you use it, and a little night light on the stairs would make a big difference. Maybe a blind on the cottage door too, especially at night when you come down to the toilet. Perhaps a bit more attention to detail on the cleaning regime, cottage was clean though some areas needed more attention e.g. skirtings in lounge and the w/c too, the sitting room needed more airing. Other than that perfect and fantastically equipped.

Very nice clean cottage with less than 5 mins to the beach. The owner has thought of nearly everything that you could want for a holiday home. When I say nearly everything, there is one thing I can think of that might be required.A night light in case you have to get up in the night to go downstairs. The lights on the top of the stairs are too bright and tend to wake people up when turned on.We left them off after awhile and instead left the under counter lights on in the kitchen which allowed enough light to go up and down stairs. The shower has got to be the best one We have used as it blasts you clean but softly.Everything is catered for and there are two tv's so you do not have to fight over them. The garden has more than enough space to relax in and is a lovely little sun trap. The garage is smaller than a new style one but we had a Peugeot 207estate and managed to get it in first time.Other comments you may see about a busy road outside the garage can be true at certain times of the day because people use it as a short cut to go up the hill to miss the junction traffic at the bottom of the hill. All in all a very pleasant cottage ideally situated about 10 minutes from Brighton on the bus,the no12 or 2 or 14c always on time.Make sure you take the coastal walk to the Marina. We will Book this cottage again.

Everything was tip top my only moan would be another wardrobe was needed, I like to hang all my clothes on hangers, the double wardrobe was ok for me , I never used any drawers, my daughter had the other bedroom and had to hang her clothes on hooks, not enough coat hangers, had there have been 3 or 4 people sharing it would have been very difficult, I never put these comments in visitor book, everything else was lovely but since only you will be reading this I feel ok to comment. We did have a laugh about the cheese grater comment ha ha !!!

Delightful, cosy, well equipped cottage with a pretty well maintained garden ( includes table & chairs, sun loungers and bbq. ) The bathroom is downstairs and the staircase to the bedrooms is quite narrow and steep - we didn't find either was a problem. Small garage but I managed to get a Ford B max in there ok. Good location in Rottingdean close to shops, museum/library and sea front. There is an excellent frequent bus service to get into Brighton and other locations along the coast. Had a very happy holiday there and I'm sure you would too.

We were very satisfied with the cottage. I had only 2 gripes, and one was my own fault. I had not taken on board that the only toilet was downstairs. The other, which I think needs to be considered, is that we needed summer-weight duvets, not the heavier ones provided, with no alternative. Rottingdean is really pleasant and attractive and we used the excellent local bus services every day, walking on the Downs and visiting Lewes and Alfriston as well as Brighton. It was an ideal holiday location.
