This delightful and cosy, single-storey, detached holiday cottage has been furnished to a high standard and has pleasant views across open countryside. It sits on the edge of the village, on the line of Hadrian’s Wall, with the National Walking Trail passing within 100 yards of the doorstep. It is ideally situated for exploring the National Parks of Northumberland and the Lake District, and the scenery and walking surrounding the cottage are superb. The Pennine Way is just 2 miles away and the beautiful lakes and fells of both parks are easily accessible. Scotland’s ‘Riever’ country, historic Carlisle and Hexham are all within a short, scenic drive and fishing can be arranged locally. Nearest pub 300 yards serves real ales and food.

    The owner rang us and gave us really good, helpful directions to the property. The cottage was well equipped and we enjoyed staying there. We went in February half-term so the weather was cold and snowy but this meant that the landscape and our walk along Hadrian's Wall was breathtaking. The cottage was really cosy. It was a bit difficult getting up to the property in the ice, but the owner was very helpful; he popped in to let us have more logs and explained that we could park in the little carpark at the back of the cottage if it continued to be icy. We had a good couple of days exploring the region and I would definitely like to return to explore some more.

    Nice cottage in a very pleasant location. Our only negative is the design of the bathroom means that the loo is positioned very close to the wall making it difficult to use. I think larger or less mobile people could find it awkward.
