A perfect base for exploring Argyll and Bute with its picturesque coastline and beaches within easy reach.

These holiday properties (ref 23696 and 23697) are located adjacent to the owners’ home, beside the river, at the foot of Dunadd Fort, an historic monument associated with the Kings of Scotland since the Iron Age. Forming part of the original farmstead they have been tastefully furnished offering an ideal base to explore Argyll and Bute with its varied rugged coastline and beaches. On the edge of the Knapdale and Kilmichael forests there are miles of walks and cycle tracks as well as exploring the nearby Crinan Canal, 3 miles. For the more adventurous, there is sailing, fishing (loch and sea) and riding nearby. The village of Kilmartin with its museum, many Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments and burial cairns and the Standing Stones of Kilmartin Glen is only 2 miles away with Lochgilphead, 4 miles, giving access to Loch Fyne and Inveraray, 28 miles with its castle and jail. Exploring northward takes you to Oban, 35 miles, a busy fishing port and gateway to the isles with ferry services to several islands. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Outstanding! Perfect for our Xmas break - Margaret and Tim were great hosts and their dog Fern was one of the highlights for our 5yr old son. The surrounding scenery is very beautiful and there are so many places to see. There are country and forest walks within a stone’s throw and we would love to visit there again! Thanks!

Excellent in every respect. Very well equipped, spacious, comfortable. Just off the main road, and very well placed for access to locations north and south, yet quiet.

This is the most delightful cottage we have ever stayed at. We should not sing its praises to highly otherwise we might lose the chance of returning due to high demand.
