Grade II listed property just 800 yards from the glistening sea of Tenby’s North Beach

Gable End Lodge might be just 800 yards from the sparkling sand and glistening blue sea of Tenby’s North Beach but this Grade II listed, architectural gem is certainly hard to leave. From film stars to socialites, Gable End Lodge has been a much loved home and retreat for many since its construction in the 1830s. Now accommodating 7 beneath its elegant roof, its spacious rooms, high ceilings and delightfully ornate windows make it impossible not to appreciate the uniqueness of its original design. After a morning swim, the private enclosed garden offers the ideal spot for browsing the morning papers; while the grandeur of the living room provides a fitting welcome after some fine dining within the medieval walled town.  With Tenby often referred to as ‘the jewel in the crown of Pembrokeshire’  and The National Geographic recently claiming Pembrokeshire to be the second best coastal destination in the entire world...........this gem within the jewel shouldn’t be missed.

This is a really nice cottage, well-equipped for families, very comfy beds, generally quiet. It was very clean and well-kept, and had lots of original features. It was about a 10 minute walk from the seafront (uphill) and has a Co-op 2 minutes away which is very handy. The only thing I would say is that there is not much outside space. The bit of garden in the photo is all there is, and it is semi-detached and in the middle of a residential area, not as detached as it appears.... However, that was the only minor thing, I would definitely stay there again, and the owner was very friendly and helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the house. It is a beautiful property and had everything (accept champagne glasses) that we needed! Highly recommended and will be staying there again.

The Lodge is spacious, but also most of the other attributes below. It was well equipped and all the linen was very good and spotlessly clean. All rooms were a very good size and well decorated. The beds were of very good quality, and the lounge large and comfortable. There was good, secure parking for two vehicles. Our holiday was almost perfect, with the Lodge complimented by the beautiful weather we enjoyed. The North beach is a short walk away, and the town centre likewise, so the car was not used much. Tenby has beautiful beaches with great sand for castles and safe swimming, which all of us enjoyed, particularly our granddaughter. It also has great eating places, from takeaways to restaurants, and we took advantage of these. It was very enjoyable, and we will certainly return to Tenby.

Nice clean period property - although kitchen was too small in terms of trying to accommodate six adults. Not enough comfortable seating in living area for everyone to enjoy an evening in. The garden was not safe for very young children as there were small rocks cemented into the area surrounding the grass which had to be stepped over before accessing the area. We had three big cars so the parking was difficult, also making it impossible to close the five bar gate thus making it unsafe for small children to play outside. The owners were very nice and helpful, and we felt comfortable in calling them for assistance. The location for the shops and beach was good.

A very pleasant, well appointed property. Parking for two cars - a little tight but ok. Co-op store nearby open from 7am to 11pm was extremely handy. A ten minute walk into town and easy access to road routes out of town. The sitting room/dining room was very nicely furnished.
