Amidst peace and rural seclusion, yet only 4 miles from the county town of Dorchester, this spacious and very comfortable house stands on the owners’ 160-acre working farm. Converted from the former stables and adjoining two farm cottages, it offers accommodation of a very high standard and has a cosy woodburner (logs included) and range-style cooker with double oven. Equally suitable for less mobile guests, it has wheelchair access, a ground floor bedroom and shower room with grab rails. It makes a wonderfully relaxing base from which to explore Dorset’s lovely Hardy country and nearby Jurassic coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Broadmayne village, 0.5 miles, boasts a pub and shop, and Dorchester offers a myriad delights including four museums, a Roman villa and Maiden Castle. The coast, 3 miles, has been awarded World Heritage status - an area extending from beyond Lyme Regis to Poole Harbour, with glorious scenery, walks and beaches as well as plenty of fossil hunting. Inland, attractions as varied as the Cerne Abbas Giant and Bovington Tank Museum invite exploration, a network of footpaths and bridleways starts from the door. Golf, fishing and riding are found nearby. This property has received a 4 star Gold Award grading from Visit England. Shop and pub 0.5 miles.

Super location and everything we needed from a holiday cottage. Logs for the stove included were a real bonus. We appreciated being left to it and being able to get in a bit early with our fresh and frozen foods. On the improvement side, stand up showers in the bathrooms would have made these better. Nothing can be done but the floors creak loudly throughout the house whenever anyone moved around upstairs.

The group agreed this was some of the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in. We are now talking about going again.

Great place would definitely stay again. Could do with a deeper clean to remove cobwebs etc and showers could be improved but that would not put us off from returning. Really spacious and relaxing place. Oh and take a torch for walking to local pub!!

Excellent property. Stayed there twice for a ladies weekend (all over 60!). All home comforts and lots of household products provided. Good wifi access too. This is the only property we've ever visited twice so that says it all! The games room is an absolute bonus - particularly recommended after a couple of glasses of wine!

an excellent large property with good facilities, both indoor and out.the large garden area is ideal for children, it is well away from the main road. Ideally situated if you want to sample beaches at Weymouth or swanage and studland.Dorchester on the doorstep.we had a lovely time and would definitely return.

Lovely place to stay, the best I've stayed at for the kids safety. The best I've stayed at for facilities, i.e. Pots, pans, cleaning stuff, toilet roll, bin bags, all the little things we always forget! Great location, loads to do in the area, lots of room for our two families of 4.

A lovely place well situated for East and West Dorset. The rooms are big and well appointed. I went with my 2 sons, their partners and 4 children and a baby. It's ideal for children with a grassed area opposite the French doors used for badminton. A little further away is a huge area which has 2 football goals. The games room is large and has table football and table tennis. There are 16 bikes available to use. By the patio is a decent BBQ and a large table with a parasol. Inside there's everything you need. What I liked particularly is the fact there are no rules posted anywhere so it feels relaxed and informal. All in all a great place to go with the family!!
