Sympathetically converted, these super barn conversions (refs PRRJ and PRRK), previously the egg store of a renowned chicken farm, stand side by side adjacent to the owners’ home, which is on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Kirdford. Close to the South Downs National Park, these attractive holiday barns are ideal for couples wishing to stroll, cycle, fish, play golf or visit the numerous attractions within easy reach. Foxleigh Farm Barns has close access to an extensive network of footpaths, leading to the unspoilt part of the low weald, a haven for birds and wildlife. The quaint village of Petworth is 5 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown designed gardens and parkland, where many functions and events can be enjoyed during the summer months. The charming small town of Midhurst, famous for polo at Cowdray Park is also a short drive, as are Billingshurst, Haslemere and Guildford. Goodwood, with its motor racing and horse racing, Fontwell races, West Dean Gardens, Parham House, The Weald, Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance, as is the cathedral city of Chichester with its extensive shopping and tea rooms, festival theatre and harbour tours. Alternatively, the town of Arundel with its famous castle and cathedral, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust are both well worth a visit. The Witterings and other beaches are a half-hour’s drive and numerous golf courses are within easy reach. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

We had a wonderful stay at The Coop, I'd have loved it to have been longer but I think we'd have struggled to find things to do as there doesn't seem to be much locally unless your on a walking holiday/looking to be out in the countryside. We were attending an event about half an hour away on the Saturday so a Friday to Sunday stay suited us perfectly. The cottage itself is at the side of the owners house, and backs onto their other cottage 'The Roost' which is also equally as lovely but the looks of it! I should also mention that you don't hear anything from the other cottage, so other guests won't affect your stay. The cottage itself is beautiful, it's well decorated and furnished. The kitchen had everything you can think of and more, even things like kitchen foil/tupperware which you don't normally see in self-catering cottages. There is a WC downstairs as well as the main bathroom upstairs. The bed was wonderful, possibly the comfiest and biggest bed I've ever slept on! We briefly met the owner Elaine, who was very welcoming and polite. She showed us in and just talked us through a few things lie what to do if the smoke alarm goes off etc. She had also left us a bottle of wine in the fridge, along with a jug of milk and tea/coffee. This was a lovely touch, and meant we could enjoy our surroundings with a cuppa as soon as we'd unpacked as opposed to searching for the nearest shop. If we ever needed to be in the area, we'd definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely break!

The Coop is lovely, it's very clean a great place to stay. It has a really useful garden with table and chairs and the garden is completely enclosed which is great if you have a dog with you as we did. Upstairs was carpeted and downstairs was laminated flooring itch a rug which we found to be ideal. Nearby just a few are 3 pubs/restaurants and lots of lovely walks. Just a few miles away Petworth House and Petworth Park ideal places to visit. A bit further away is West Wittering beach, miles of clean sands and clear waters. The Coop is in a great location whether you want to go for walks and hikes or for enjoying leisurely days out visiting and exploring towns and places.

I had a great week here, it's an ideal base for many local sites, well situated and a home from home. The welcome was warm and I felt at ease and knew I could ask for anything else I needed.

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean with everything we could have needed. The coop has an enclosed garden - great for our two dogs to explore and a larger outdoor patio area than the adjoining property.
