Foxes Manor sits within a very secluded setting at the end of a quiet lane, but has a gate leading on to a pathway with easy access to the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water.

Foxes Manor sits within a very secluded setting at the end of a quiet lane, but has a gate leading on to a pathway with easy access to the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, ofter referred to as the Venice of the Cotswolds. With mullioned stone windows, oak panelling and floors, and a ‘priest’s hole’, this is one of the most intriguing, evocative, detached Jacobean houses in the region. Each room is traditionally finished with antique furniture, original artwork, tapestries and rugs to complement the unique Jacobean features. An ideal holiday meeting place for family and friends, it provides a relaxing and comfortable base with added extras of a hot tub and snooker table to entertain all ages. Being within walking distance from the heart of the pretty Cotswold village there is plenty to choose from including a visit to the Model Village, the Cotswolds Motor Museum, the Cotswolds Perfumery, Birdland and the Bourton Model Railway Exhibition. Cycle hire is available in the village. There are many individual shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy as well as a gentle stroll by the water’s edge. Other nearby honey-coloured villages well worth a visit include Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh with its famous Tuesday market and Chipping Campden. For those who enjoy National Trust properties and gardens there is an abundance to choose from within easy driving distance including Hidcote Manor, Snowshill Manor, Bourton House, Kiftsgate Court and Batsford Arboretum. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Beautiful cottage, excellent location. However the only downside is the cottage gets incredibly smokey when starting a fire in the fireplace so all our belonging and clothes smelt.

We had a fantastic weekend celebrating a special birthday with the whole family. The house accommodated us well and we enjoyed the hot tub & the close proximity of the house to Crocodiles of the world & Bourton.

Fantastic place. Beautiful. fits 8 adults perfectly if you were to all be indoors. Any more would be a squash. Although wouldn't find this in the summer if people were using the outdoors. The dining room and fire were fab for winter dinner parties.

The location of the cottage was great but we felt it was a bit pricey for what you got. We were only a family of 5 so possibly it would make more sense for larger parties. Would have been nice to have been provided simple kitchen items like nespresso pods since there was a machine. We would expect a more "stocked" kitchen for the price point. A large frog was inside the door when we arrived (and hopped out safely). Guests should know it's old with its cracks and holes. Beds were very comfortable, linens clean and nice. Living room furniture could probably use a cleaning or an update.

Although from the outside this was a beautiful house in lovely surroundings and the location was perfect, the inside of the house left much to be desired. The electrical wiring and sockets were not good and in fact some were down right dangerous. First evening we had a mouse join us, evidence of which was found in abudance under the cushions on the sofas and chairs in the lounge. These obviously had not been vacuumed for weeks! The wet room floor had loose tiles which could have been dangerous and the electric radiator on the wet room wall could have given a small child a really nasty burn where it became so hot and could not be turned off. The smell of the sewer in the en suite on the first floor was overpowering and the cold tap was not working. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equiped. As a family of 10 we had a good week but felt it was certainly overpriced and spoilt by problems that could easily be sorted.

Lovely house with lots of character, great location, just a short stroll to the village. We were a large group and had no problems with room. The kitchen is on the small side but more than caters for needs. Hot tub is a great addition. The only disappointment was the fire in the living room, although there's a disclaimer about it being smokey it's a great shame it's so smokey, the room was uninhabitable for a while whilst the smoke cleared, so we couldn't use it after that. I would return to the house in the summer but I wouldn't in the winter purely because of the fire.
