Spend an afternoon visiting Westward Ho! Or simply relax in the hot tub with a glass of prosecco, admiring the idyllic views that surround.

This impressive accommodation sits in a rural location, adjoining the owner’s home, yet with privacy assured. Four Seasons Barn is a spacious barn conversion, which provides a great party house for groups of friends or families wishing to holiday together, and is ideally placed to explore the whole of North Devon. The bedroom configuration offers great flexibility for sleeping arrangements with strong adult bunk beds and two zip and link beds which can be either super kingsize or twin beds on request. The large kitchen/dining room really is the heart of the home at this property, and provides an ideal place for everyone to gather. Young and old will enjoy the games table and the first floor gaming area, as well as the mini football pitch, netball, mini badminton and a selection of lawn games. When your little ones are in bed and you want to relax, there is a private hot tub that boasts stunning views over the countryside, which you can admire with a glass of wine in hand. A dog sitting service can be arranged with the owners on arrival (by arrangement with the owner, at cost). Also in 2018 there will be children’s corner with activity table colouring and board games, and currently there is a baby bath, potty and changing mat available if required. The friendly owners even allow their guests to feed and groom their horses, and even collect fresh eggs from the chickens, providing fantastic entertainment for your children. From April to October you may bring your horse on holiday with you (by arrangement with the owner, at cost). There is a 60m x 25m all-weather arena on-site with show jumps and 3 12ft x 12ft stables and good hacking. Escorted rides can also be arranged as can lessons, and beach rides only a short drive away (restricted times).
If you can tear yourself away from all that there is on offer on-site, there is plenty to see and do around the local area. The nearby Tarka Trail is a great place to spend your day walking or cycling and exploring the area with your loved ones. Alternatively, visit Great Torrington, known as the ’Cavalier Town’ from the Civil War of 1646. Watch glass being blown at Dartington Crystal, or visit the highly acclaimed gardens at RHS Rosemoor. Westward Ho! has 2 miles of sands, where visitors can enjoy fish and chips, an ice cream and a flutter in the amusement arcades. There are many pretty fishing villages to explore including nearby Clovelly and Appledore.
The village pub with popular restaurant is on the doorstep, and there are several other good pubs and restaurants within a short drive. Just a 3-minute drive away you will find a country club with leisure facilities including indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, gym, indoor racquet sports and restaurant, daily and weekly passes are available. You will also have free entry to BlackBerry Farm with its farm shop, cafe and park, ideal for young children, and just a 5-minute drive away. Coastal and country walking, golf, surfing, fishing, horse riding and cycling are all on offer close by, and Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are a must for nature lovers. Family theme parks such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way both offer indoor and outdoor activities. Fabulous place and location for exploring North Devon. The house was perfect for getting the family together and enjoying each others company. The owners were very accommodating and extremely helpful. Would like to return some time in the future. Beware the height of the door way into the sitting room... a number of us bumped our heads, some of us more than once! We all laugh about it now!

What a fabulous holiday let. The accommodation is incredibly spacious and was perfect for our family group of 11 and would have easily taken more with no squeeze at all. Lots of play areas for the children. Hot tub was great for wine in the evenings after the children had gone to bed :) All bedrooms were perfect - beautiful crisp clean linen, pure white fluffy towels and very good en-suites to every room. Sophia and her family could not have been more helpful and her attention to detail made our holiday - including DVDs for the children. We took two dogs and two of our grandchildren have autism - a great success all round. Thank you Sophia, Sam and Grace. It was lovely to meet you all. Would definitely come again.

We had a fantastic time here with everything we could possibly need provided. The accommodation is superb and ideal for our family gathering with ages ranging from 3 months to 80 years plus dog. The huge kitchen/living area was perfect for daytime family get togethers and the games provided were well used in the evening in the comfortable lounge. Plenty of outdoor fun for both children and adults with the owners on hand next door if needed. The children enjoyed the egg hunting and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. I can fully recommend Four Seasons Barn. Thank you Sophie and family for making us so welcome.

Fantastic holiday in Devon. Nine of us (6 adults and 3 children) stayed in the accommodation which had plenty of room for us all. There are 5 bedrooms all en-suite all of which are spacious with comfortable beds, high quality towels & bedding. The children especially loved the amount of space to run around downstairs with the open plan kitchen, dining area with small TV area and then a separate lounge with TV too. The hot tub is also worth mentioning as that is a very pleasant experience after an energetic family day out. I'm a bit nervous about hot tubs but this one was lovely and clean as well as heated to a nice warm temperature. The owners are extremely friendly, allowing the children to collect eggs from their chickens as well as groom and feed their ponies. As a family we really enjoyed staying at Four Seasons barn as the accommodation was very family centric and it was lovely being amongst all the animals. Four seasons barn is a rural location but convenient for a wide range of day trips. We visited somewhere new every day and didn't find driving or parking issues anywhere we went even in the height of summer. We typically travelled for 20-30 minutes to get to most locations. Major supermarkets do online deliveries to the barn but there is an excellent farm shop (Blackberry Farm/ Lizzie's Larder) 5-10 minutes away which sells lovely homemade meals as well as traditional farm shop goodies. The farm shop also has a selection of animals that children can pet and a play area if you fancy stopping for a bite to eat or to collect from food. The village also has a local pub which is a short walk from the accommodation.

The barn is very spacious and the owner and her family are lovely. The kids loved collecting eggs and grooming the horses. You are however, about 10 minutes from any shop and the local pub was not very good especially for a large group. The two main issues were no tumble drier and the hot tub. With the weather we could not get anything dry. The hot tub was cold most of the time only heating to 33 and only half the jets worked.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The hot tub is of high quality approximately 6 months old and works perfectly. The temperature can be set to 40 as a maximum, we set it to 38 and you can adjust this as desired, unfortunately these particular guests allowed their young children to play in the hot tub unsupervised and were tampering with the jet and temperature settings. If you adjust the temperature drastically as they did it will take several hours to re heat. The hot tub is checked daily to ensure it is clean and safe to use, and we are on hand if you have any problems with it, unfortunately these guests didn't approach us about it otherwise we could have showed them where they were going wrong. I do however show you upon arrival how to use it but it really couldn't be more straight forward and we have never had anyone else experience any difficulty. They state the closest shop is 10 minutes away this is actually the approx. driving distance to the closest supermarket. The nearest shop is a 3-4 minutes’ drive away and is very easy to find just left out of the drive and on your left after approx. 3 miles. There is a petrol station/car repair centre and convenience store. The village pub only 200 yards away has always been highly rated by former guests, it is advisable to book as it is popular and gets busy at times I assume they struggled to get a table to accommodate them all as they hadn't booked and most tables were already taken. In addition to the village pub which for your reference is called the 'union inn in stibb cross' we also have a hotel with restaurant open to the public and another lovely family pub which has a large restaurant attached both within 2-3 minute drive away. We do not provide a tumble drier but we offer a drying service on site for £5 per full basket should you want to get anything dried and are struggling due to the weather. Airers are provided however. We thank potential guests for taking the time to read our response and hope you can now make an informed decision please also see all our other reviews all of which are positive and Four Seasons Barn mainly scores 10/10.

House was beautiful and spacious, garden was big enough for 3 dogs and 6 children to run around, just wish it was a bit closer to civilisation as I know it!
