A stunning and cosy cottage situated in a chocolate box location just a short stroll from Chillingham Castle and the unique wild cattle park. A quiet leafy "no through" road provides access to a gravelled courtyard parking area which in turn leads to the stone built Listed cottage. The cottage benefits from a fenced and private lawned side garden with its own sun terrace and bbq area where you can wind down whilst enjoying the sound of the surrounding wildlife and trickling brook. A secure shed houses the garden furniture and bbq as well as providing secure storage for bikes and walking equipment. The pretty hamlet of Chillingham is steeped in history offering walks, cycle routes and bridle paths along picturesque roads on the door step of the cottage, which provides a great location for exploring the coast and country of Northumberland. The legendary coastline with the miles of sandy beaches is located a short distance to the east and to the west lies the impressive Cheviot Hills which provide bracing walks and challenging cycle routes. The Percy Arms pub and restaurant, post office and village store are situated nearby in the village of Chatton. Not only is Chillingham Castle on your doorstep but the World Heritage sites of Bamburgh, Holy Island and Alnwick as well as the Alnwick Gardens are all within easy reach.This delightful cottage is an excellent base for exploring everything that Northumbria has to offer. The cottage itself is set over two floors and offers two cosy bedrooms, ground floor bathroom with bath and shower, family sitting room with traditional wood burning stove, spacious dining room and well equipped kitchen. The cottage is presented to a high standard throughout and we are sure you will have a pleasant stay. Ford Cottage can be booked individually or collectively with Gardener’s Cottage (CC323002) and Gamekeeper’s Cottage (CC323003) to accommodate the gathering of family and friends up to 12 guests.
