Visitors are welcome to visit the animals on the farm and fish at the nearby popular fishing spot at Fontburn Reservoir (charges apply). Wonderful walks or cycling can be taken right from the front door. Whether you head up the Northumbrian Heritage Coast or across Rothbury and off towards the Cheviots, you won’t be short of places to visit. Fontburn Reservoir has first class fishing, a popular location for beginners, as well as keen anglers. With a lodge shop providing tackle, bait and even ice-creams and refreshments, making a nice family spot for picnics. A great location for travelling this friendly and unspoilt county peppered with castles, historic sites and miles of golden beaches. Central location for exploring Rothbury, Morpeth, the coast or inland. This south-facing property has been built with energy efficiency in mind and has a biomass central heating system with underfloor heating, solar thermal panels and a multi-fuel burner. Shop and restaurant 5¾ miles, pub 2 miles. Fontburn Cottage can be booked together with Pheasant Lodge (UK3071) and Stagshead Lodge (UK3072) to accommodate up to 17 guests.

    Fontburn Cottage was very welcoming. Thought had been given to providing everything you might need for a stay away from your own home - even a welcome hamper of treats. Warm and cosy with beautiful countryside views and surroundings. Helpful owners nearby to sort out any difficulties which might arise.

    Absolutely fabulous, very comfortable and it had everything we wanted and more. If you're looking for a tranquil location, with a home-from-home feel then this is perfect. So much to do within easy reach. Highly recommend and we will definitely go back.

    Amazing cottage, tucked away from everything but near enough to main roads for easy access to all attractions. Uninterrupted views, clean, roomy, walks on the doorstep and a great welcome pack.
