We had a lovely week at this cottage. There are some beautiful walks nearby and the Goil Inn is friendly and welcoming. Inveraray is not too far as well for shops and sightseeing. There was just two of us (and two dogs). NB the directions are slightly incorrect - owner has notified letting agent but website hasn't been updated so if you book, make sure you call the owner before arriving! The owner left the best welcome pack I've ever received and has clearly tried hard to update the cottage. It has received a few unfair reviews really - it is very cosy and had all the basic amenities we needed. We had a problem with the TV but the owner was more than helpful and tried her best to arrange an engineer to fix it. There is little to no mobile phone signal at the property but it wasn't a problem as we spent most of the week out and about walking... and in the pub! Only disadvantage was the lack of TV but hopefully this is fixed now - we caught up on lots of films on the laptop every evening! Thank you for a lovely holiday.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; With regard to the comments made I would like to stress that I love to keep all my guests happy and leave no stone unturned to make all welcome at the cottage. I always leave the house clean throughout with a large welcome pack for guests and personally check that they have arrived safely as I did in this instance. Unfortunately, there was a small error within the directions. I was not responsible for this being wrong and have since checked and amended where necessary. I welcome suggestions for improvement and have addressed all the matters (both minor and larger) raised. I have improved the seating in the lounge and apologise for the oversight with furniture. I was awaiting a replacement for a chair. This has since been replaced. The oven has been checked and is in working order and the fridge also. I do intend to have the fridge changed. There has unfortunately been a minor problem with country mice (certainly nothing else!) coming in from the cold in autumn, this has been dealt with immediately and effectively. The garden is always tidy and I am working on ways to improve it. If the weather is wet sometimes, the grass may have to wait a week. I do not live at the property but I have a good gardener who cuts the grass for me. I am disappointed the guests felt otherwise. Apologies for Alistair my garden gnome having blown over in the wind, he has since been removed from his post. I apologise if the creeper frame at the back door was webby. This was a very quick turnover so I have directed my cleaner to these areas in future. Finally I would like to say that I welcome all comments and try to deal with them quickly and efficiently. My "wee village house" has previously been said by most guests to be warm, clean and welcoming and I'm really sorry if in this instance some things have been a problem or disappointed. I was disappointed with the score given but have made sure these comments are addressed.

Had a fantastic time in this lovely, cosy cottage. The cottage was always warm and the welcome pack was brilliant. Great location and base for some fantastic walks around the area. Very quirky with the upside down style but worth it to see the views over the Loch and the hills beyond from the upstairs lounge or the master bedroom. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
