Description

Within walking distance to a sandy beach, this ground floor apartment lies close to shops and restaurants.

This cosy, semi-detached, ground floor holiday apartment has stunning views over the sea and lies just a few minutes’ walk to a sandy beach with tropical palms fronting the promenade and yachts moored out in the sheltered bay. From here you can explore the charm of a seaside town with shops, bars and restaurants. Millport is also the home of Europe’s smallest cathedral and Britain’s narrowest house. Cumbrae is a haven for wildlife, a colony of seals live in the bay and it attracts migrant birds from around the world. A quiet coastal road meanders around the island, popular with walkers and cyclists, and gives access to natural unspoilt beaches. Footpaths across the hills in the centre of the island provide rural walks and panoramic views across the sea to the Isle of Arran, Isle of Bute and the Mull of Kintyre. There is a good local bus link between the ferry and the property. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room with single futon. Kitchen with tiled floor. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Freesat TV. DVD. CD and small library. 2-ring electric hob. Combi microwave/oven/grill. Laundry facilities by arrangement. Shared enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. On road parking. No smoking.

Fabulous wee place to stay. This was our third visit and am always overwhelmed by the welcome and the fact that I have never seen anywhere so well equipped! Cookies and milk provided on arrival are much appreciated. Thanks.

Quaint little cottage and lots of little extras provided, that came in handy. A couple of little issues, such as there is no space to walk around bed, and this results in having to climb over whoever is sleeping, in order to visit toilet during the night! If you are lacking in flexibility, this can prove challenging 😂. Also the shower has a fixed overhead spray which cannot be adjusted to suit height of person, and in addition to this the water pressure from shower is poor. However apart from these little issues, this did not detract from a lovely holiday experience.
