The accommodation was clean and the beds comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipment and there was always plenty of hot water. Unfortunately the garden was rather unkempt, the shower was not up to standard and water leaked onto the floor, the sofas in the lounge were uncomfortable and the rear windows had no curtains which meant people in the house behind were able to see in. Also the towels, though plenty of them, were rather old.

The kitchen is too cramped for a family to have a meal and there is no table in the living room. We had to move the table from the kitchen to the living room to enjoy meals and board games. The toilet seat fittings were loose and caused some issues, not disasterous but annoying.

Picked because it would take dogs. This is not luxury accommodation and has many small cosmetic shortcomings and some of the light fittings and the shower are a bit low for me at 6'3". However it is spacious has just about everything you could need for eating cooking, washing, drying etc. is warm, has plenty of hot water and has two bathrooms (handy even when there are only 2 getting ready) and lots of space for clothes and luggage + plenty of towels and bedding. It is close to the main road but in a quiet situation. Getting two cars on the drive would be a bit tight. Big supermarket a few miles away in Leven to stock up. The fridge is large but we did not use the separate freezer(which was unplugged) or the washing machine tumble dryer or dishwasher when we stayed (only 4 days). Yes I/we would stay again as there was nothing I would regard as a major fault, it accepted dogs and was close to where I wanted to be.

We enjoy staying at Fingals but there are things that need to be addressed. Firstly and most important is the shower. It is very old and cramped plus the water leaks out somewhere causing pools on the floor which constantly need drying. Secondly is the lack of WiFi. A few guests have commented on this in the past but it seems to fall on deaf ears. Thirdly is an apparant lack of attention to detail to ensure the cottage is checked properly before guests move in. For example there was no light bulb in the lamp beside the fireplace. We looked for a replacement but there was none. We ended up swapping the bulb from another lamp. Also we just about had enough toilet rolls to last the week as there were no spare ones. Hope this helps.

Very disappointed in this cottage badly needs updating, the shower cubical not nice at all. Sofas very uncomfortable, one had holes covered with a cover to hide. Just generally very lacking in care. Next doors builders in drive on arrival, came back to two vans parked in yard blocking entrance. First morning in through kitchen window when builder from next door taking water from tap under our window. Felt like we were having holiday in builders yard. We feel we should have been informed all this work was being done and given chance to cancel.
