We had a lovely time, we will definitely be returning. Loved the free standing bath and highly recommend a toasted bacon sandwich off the aga, yummy!!! Only thing to watch out for is the road down to the property, especially if your car is low to the ground. Although there is no phone or internet reception at the cottage there is a selection of card/ board games to keep you well entertained. The garden and outside space was amazing my two dogs loved it, easy access with a couple of steps down to the stream. I would recommend taking a couple of throws to make the living room a bit more comfortable. Overall a wonderful relaxing experience can't wait to return.

This is my first time in Find Me Out cottage . It is very peacefuland such beautiful surrounding. The cottage it's self is lovely. Great for just chilling !! . I like the walled garden which is accessed by the kitchen . I brought a puppy and it was totally secure so she enjoyed her time being able to come and go . Great if you are bringing small children .

Wow we had a great time, will definatly return. Beautiful surroundings ,only one downside was not being able to light a fire for smoke which could soon be remedied with a fan on chimney. First time Ive seen my husband try to cook on an aga, great memories hope to be back soon.

We have stayed at several cottages across England and Scotland and without a doubt this was the best. The location is so idyllic and beautiful, completely tucked away without feeling isolated as at the end of the estate road is a main route that takes you to Ayr, Galloway, Dumfries all within an hour. The staff were unbelievably helpful when we had an issue with the aga, they got it fixed and sent wine and fudge as an apology for any inconvenience. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and boasted a fabulous roll top which was a real treat. The walks around the property were truly breathtaking as were the walks we took in Galloway forest. Unfortunately we only made it to Loch Doon so we will have to return to complete the walks! We only had two tiny bug bears, the pans in the kitchen were a bit of a pain as they just weren't big enough and the cutlery was a bit grubby (next time we will take our own) and the living room needed a few throws and cushions just to make it more comfortable (again we will just take our own). These were teeny tiny issues that had no bearing whatsoever on our visit, just maybe something for the owners to consider. It really was the most perfect holiday cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

beautiful place but awful smell from oil heating system which had already been raised as an issue on trip advisor.i even phoned beforehand to see if the problem has been resolved and was ensured it had. So unbearable especially with children sleeping in next room to where heating system was that we left a day early.very disappointed.another unresolved problem was the unlightable open fire which filled the room with smoke, chimney needs attention .

Great place to stay. Last few hundred yards of estate track very rough, could do with smoothing out. Warm and comfortable cottage but the smell of diesel from boiler was very unpleasant and needs rectifying. A few things to make the cottage even better would be 1. Replace the cutlery with a stainless steel set. 2. Have a complete set of matching crockery. 3 Provide instructions on how to set/operate the heating/hot water system. However the cottage and its location ensures a relaxing holiday. The coast was in easy reach. Lots of forest walks and the local shops provided virtually everything we wanted. A pleasure to meet the owner. Our dog loved the stream within 5 metres of the back door (splish splash ).

Strong smell of oil in house, dishwasher broken, aga turned off, The chimney not drawing, which is an old problem and meant no use of fire. This is a historical problem as we stayed before and is mentioned by many guests in comments book. The chimney needs a flue lining for it to work. House was dirty, fireplace not cleaned. Back door key was taken away some reason not explained. Part of kitchen roof caved in from water damage. No compensation was offered. Very, very disappointing.
