The cottage was lovely, the owners left a bottle of wine for my husband as it was a surprise weekend away for his birthday. A lovely and thoughtful touch. I texted z few couple of times as this was the first time I had booked somewhere on my own and Claire was very helpful nothing was a problem. The beds were just heaven so comfortable, you won't want to get up. We booked so we could go to York which was only 20 mins away. Highly recommended. Tip if going to York on a Saturday park in the station carpark 4.50 all day no time limit. Would we book again yes we definitely would.

Mr and Mrs Curtis were exceptionally helpful and kind. The cottage was very warm, well equipped and comfortable, the double bed was massive. We had a dog and there was plenty of space for him to roam. Its about 20 minutes from York and in the area 2 great pubs, Blacksmiths Arms in Naburn, serves huge portions of good food and The Ferry in Cawood which was tremendous

The location was good. The cottage had potential but needs to be updated. It smelled as if it had been cleaned but I found hairs in the tub and water marks all over the bathroom mirror. The freezer door fell off. Overall, it was disappointing.

Cottage was in a good quiet location with some lovely local pubs, we had a great holiday and visited some amazing places. However the cottage was tired and grubby, we had to clean the bathrooms and kitchen before use, and several things didn't work (grill, lamp, extractor fan in bathroom) & the freezer/ fridge door was broken. Both bbq were so old I wouldn't have wanted to cook on them! The owners could make this an amazing place to stay, with a bit of effort.
