Spacious rooms and a full range of leisure amenities make it an excellent choice for large family holidays or group gatherings whatever the season. Guests benefit from year-round use of an indoor heated swimming pool, games room (with pool table and darts), sauna and Jacuzzi available 2pm-7pm, as well as their own enclosed lawned garden complete with furniture and barbecue. Just 9 miles north west of historic Shrewsbury and close to the Welsh Borders, Field House stands in an ideal position for exploring and sightseeing within this lovely region. England’s largest inland county, Shropshire remains one of the country’s least populated and unspoilt landscapes, where bustling ancient market towns lie encompassed by acres of countryside. This is an area immersed in history, with Domesday Book associations; noteworthy castles include the English Heritage castle at nearby Moreton Corbet, the hilltop remains at Montgomery and Clun to the south, and of course the splendid sandstone fortifications which dominate the centre of Shrewsbury. Whether you crave nightlife, history, culture or shopping, nearby towns have plenty to offer all tastes and ages. Oswestry boasts the legendary King Oswald’s Well, said to have curative powers, and nearby Wem has plenty of rustic pubs in which to sample the local ales; the 200-year-old ale brewing tradition can still be observed at Wem’s Hanby Ales brewery. Other notable attractions include Hawkston Historic Park and Follies, Wroxeter Roman City, Hodnet Hall Gardens and Attingham Park (NT). Go karting, paint balling and quad biking are available in the local area, depending on the season. Shops ¼ mile, pub 300 yards.

We had a great week in Field House. It catered for all 12 of us without any problems. The pool is fantastic and lovely and warm. The only slight gripe we had was that although 5 hours of access to it per day is ample, it would have been nice to be able to use it whenever we wanted. It would also be nice to be told why the time restrictions are in place.

We liked everything about Field House apart from the fact that we felt that another oven and hob would have been useful when cooking for this number of people. Another sink would also have been useful

Excellent pool, comfortable house although the decor is a bit dated. Garden good. Nearby shops and pub also good, the farm shop was very useful for picnic supplies. Would recommend.

Excellent facilities. Very clean and well run. SwImming pool a great bonus but was a little cold for our granddaughter who is still a baby/toddler. Even the more temperature sensitive of our group (some of the southerners) found it a little chilly. Another very minor point was the directions as they say to go past the Bridge Inn. We arranged to, meet our son there for lunch on Monday but it is now a private house. No other pub was serving food in Baschurch on Monday. As I said these are minor points and I would definitely recommend it to any friends.

Good meeting on arrival. We were shown around the house and pool area. We were a party of 13, ages ranging from 18 months to 65 years. The house was spacious and very well equipped. The pool area was fantastic and the children really enjoyed it. We have already decided we would like to visit again.

A lovely, spacious house - perfect for a group of friends/family to spend some time together in. Amazing swimming pool for the kids (a bit cold for the very young). Would stay again without hesitation.
