Cosy cottage in lovely quiet setting, with shops and pubs within easy walking distance. Thoughtful owners made us welcome, including wine for the adults, treats and old towels for the dog. Lots of places to walk and explore from the door; Stourhead house and gardens nearby.

My daughter and I plus cat had a very enjoyable stay, despite some rather wet weather. Great location in a peaceful setting with Castle Hill close by providing a great walking spot with marvellous views. I enjoyed a good walk there accompanied by Sasha, the owner's dog. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious.

Ideally located on the edge of old Mere village in the shadow of the church, the cottage is both close to the village but backing onto fields. Lots of local walks, all services available in a short 2-3 minute walk to the village but it still has the small village feel. The cottage itself is well equipped, with all the basic needs for a short stay, including a small garden for private use and a clothes line although there is a washer and dryer. Two toilets, ample parking and helpful but unobtrusive hosts.
