A good house, in a beautiful location, spoiled by frequent passing trains (up to 27 per day)& access only via a user operated level crossing, which I found difficult to operate for health reasons.

Our stay at Ferry house was great. It was wet on arrival but we enjoyed glorious weather for most of the rest of the week. The cottage was fantastic, warm and cosy with everything you could need, a true home away from home with the added bonus of the hot tub. The lack of tv signal was not a problem especially with the reliable wifi and neither were the trains once you get used to them. The village of Beauly is fabulous, with everything you need, a butchers, greengrocer, deli, a few gift shops an Indian restaurant, a Chinese take-away and cafe's and hotels which all offer good eating out opportunities opportunities. We had a meal in the Priory hotel which was lovely and staff very friendly, we also used the Chinese take-away which was good too. We made good use of the hot tub which was our main reason for booking. It was the perfect chill out week that we needed before the start of our own bnb/self-catering season madness!

The photographs of this cottage definitely don't do it justice! It is in a lovely position with no other properties near by. The house is not overlooked at all and very private which we loved. The river runs along the garden and affords beautiful views. Perfect for kayaks although it is tidal. You approach by going over the railway line which in itself is quaint. The trains are not a problem because as soon as you realize they are coming they've gone and the line is behind the house so you can't see them. The house is equipped with everything for a comfortable stay especially the kitchen. The heating is excellent and the log burner is especially nice after a day out. The highlight is the hot tub which is at the back so you have complete privacy and views of the river or the stars depending on the time of day. The house is very homely and we felt comfortable straight away. Wi fi a must with teenage boys was very reliable. It is five minutes to Beauly which has everything you need and about nine miles to Inverness. We have booked to return next year because it was excellent!
