The Gite was lovely. We were met by the owner to show us around and ask if we need anything. We were also given some home made brownies from Stephanie as a welcome gift which were lovely. The Gite was clean and tidy, with washing machine etc. If we wanted any advice Stephanie and Marc were on hand to point us in the right direction. We would highly recommended this Gite for a family holiday and for those wanting to visit the Somme area.

Overall we were pleased with the cottage, it was very clean and tidy. The location was quite remote which we didn't mind as we were only there for a weekend. The supermarket in Roisel was a good size and sold everthing you might need. The main issue for us was the bathrooms as neither really worked for us. The main bathroom had a bath and hand held shower which couldn't be used to stand up and shower with as there was no curtain or screen which meant water went all over the floor. The bathroom in the turret from the childrens bedroom was a shower wet room but the shower head dropped to face the wall resulting in a trickle of water instead of a shower. Once the floor was wet you couldn't use the sink until the floor dried. Also both bathrooms had no toilet in, there was a separate toilet down the landing past all the bedrooms. The lounge and dining room were spacious, light and airy. The dining table with six chairs was great for entertaining. In the lounge area were two three seater settees but as we were three couples we felt another small two seater settee would have made relaxing more comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious the only down side was that the cooker took a very long time to heat up but once we realised this we just tried to remember to heat it up a good time in advance. The heating was very efficient and we were cosy all weekend which was lovely as it was early December and cold outside. Stephanie and Marc the owners were very friendly. They live next door on their working farm and have two large hunter dogs keeping guard. We wouldn't stay again only due to the bathrooms not being what we are used to and the remoteness. We wouldn't recommend the cottage for anybody with small children as the steps leading up to the cottage are cobbled uneven stone and when wet very slippery. Also the stairs inside the cottage are not really suitable for small children.
