A lovely cottage in a great location. Very well equipped with everything we needed. We chose this cottage on the complex because of its location ( which was fantastic)ignoring the fact it was pet friendly. We thought this wouldn't matter but in fact it did have a particular doggie smell in the twin bedroom which meant we needed to keep the window open to air it out. We appreciate that this is a pet friendly cottage and it was our choice to stay there so made no complaints but if this would bother you best to stay in one of the other cottages. Our children loved the play area and made great friends with some other children from another cottage so were out playing all evening giving us some much appreciated adult time. Great walks along the coast path, walked to Sealife one day would highly recommend. We saw hares and a barn owl from our garden which was a real treat for us all. Would highly recommend Fell Cottage and Scalby lodge as a great place to stay. Should you stay here with a dog be aware that although the garden has a fence it is not enclosed and there are sheep in a field close by.

This was a lovely cottage with a great sea view. It was very comfortable and well equipped and we appreciated the tasteful decor. Tiny quibbles: although this is one of the nicest cottages we've ever stayed in, it is also one of the most expensive and therefore we found it a little annoying that there were only 2 loo rolls supplied, and also no matches to light the wood burner. It did get chilly occasionally (especially in bedroom and bathroom) and we were unable to turn up the thermostat. Slightly bigger quibble: cell cottage is described as having an 'enclosed garden'. It's not enclosed – there is a boundary fence, but given that the gaps between the planks of wood are about 16 inches wide, our dog (a big lab) simply stepped through. You cannot leave dogs or children unattended in the garden.
