We deliberated whether to say we would revisit Farthings or not, as we had a most enjoyable stay there. But there were so many little incidental things which needed attention, such as: The shower in the master bedroom didn't work. The cutlery drawer in the kitchen was constantly jammed. Bits of skirting board were off in a couple of rooms and the towel holder in one bathroom came off the wall completely. We had been forewarned that there had been a flood in the kitchen from the dishwasher 6 weeks before our visit, but the uneven flooring as a result of this was a hazard. Couldn't this have been addressed earlier? We weren't near any shops or amenities - but we knew that. Jill - the lady who manages this property - was very welcoming. We've stayed in many cottages over the years, and the small things are what makes or breaks your opinion as a whole.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at farthings cottage. We arrived to a lovely clean environment. The kitchen was packed with essentials such as bread milk tea coffee etc and even a freshly baked cake! The swimming pool and 2 hot tubs were both lovely temperatures at all times and the views were amazing. Ann was very friendly and welcoming and on hand if we needed anything at all. Overall had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

We had a fantastic time at Farthings. We will recommend this place to our friends and family. The shops was miles away so needed a car, just wished there was a near by shop. But otherwise was extremely happy with the bungalow. The bungalow had 3 bathrooms which was extremely handy as there was a party of 8 of us.

Main issue was that there was no view from the garden (unless you we standing up and 6 feet tall), although it stated in the description that there were "valley views from the garden". Pool was much further away than stated. Wood burner wasn't emptied from last use, and we had to clean the glass on the doors in order to see the fire. The grill didn't work, the cooker hood was disgusting, pans were dirty and there was no rinse aid or salt in the dishwasher. Most of the jets in the shower in the main bedroom were blocked, so we had to use one of the other showers.
