Beyond the castle lies the fishing village of Craster, famous for its kippers. Virtually from the doorstep there are walks along miles of gentle coastal paths. Also ideally situated for short drives to Alnwick Castle and Garden, Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses (for boat trips to the Farne Islands), Holy Island and inland to the beautiful Cheviot Hills.
