The accommodation benefits from being all on ground floor level and the wood burning stove in the lounge ensures a warm welcome awaits guests whatever the season. The kitchen has been newly refurbished and is very well equipped. To the front of the property is a spacious fully enclosed garden and over the road there are uninterrupted views across open farmland.
Far Point sits within a working (mainly arable) farm and is snuggled between the salmon rich River Tweed and Whiteadder where complimentary trout fishing is available on the latter. The elegant Georgian market town of Berwick upon Tweed is a mere 3 miles and offers many facilities including a cinema/ theatre, leisure centre with indoor swimming and an array of quaint tea rooms, shops and restaurants. A regular train service from Berwick takes only 40 minutes to reach the heart of the cultural city of Edinburgh, renowned for its festivals, arts and music venues, its superb castle and Medieval buildings and not forgetting the indulgent shopping experience along the royal Mile! Paxton House and Country Park is set in 80 acres of gardens, woodland and park-lands and is well worth a visit close by. The Scottish Border toon of Coldstream, with its wonderful woodlands walks at the Hirsel estate and prestigious golf course is only 13 miles. Pub serving food ½ mile.

    A lovely cottage with plenty of space. Beautifully decorated and very clean. For my personal preference the king size bed was very hard but the bedding was crisp and clean and luxurious. It's a little more out of the way than I am used to and it was difficult to take the dog for walks as there are no footpaths along the road but she could have a run in the secure field which was good and a lovely garden. People are really friendly and nothing is any trouble for them. The fishing on the Whiteadder is good and accessible easily. We had a lovely week and would recommend Far Point as a quiet peaceful holiday. The Crown is worth a visit in Paxton and there's lots going on in Berwick.

    The cottage is wonderful and would be ideal for a couple or small family. It is essential that you have a car when booking this cottage, as without one (like me) it is very difficult to get anywhere - there are no shops/pub/etc that you can walk to. The cottage is well cleaned by the owners, however its country location means that cellar spiders and midges are frequent visitors. Still worth a stay. In the winter it would be stunning, as the location is truly remote and beautiful.

    Fantastic cottage best cottage we have stayed in. Love that dvds, books and some board games and toys for children are supplied in case of bad weather which we had. Lovely views from the kitchen of farmland and lovely looking at the sheep as we are animal lovers too. Our dog who is nervous about new places settled in straightaway and was very relaxed throughout the week and enjoyed it too. Very spacious cottage with home from home comforts. Our 4 yr old boy loved it too - we all had a very relaxing time and cannot wait to return next year.
