We have stayed at Engan Gam several times now ,and have always enjoyed our holidays there .The property is comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owners Robin and Nerys are great and any problems are dealt with immediately. The fridge wasn't working when we arrived this year, and a new one came the following day. Also Robin sorted out the smoke alarm very quickly. The only reservations we have concern the decor. The new bathroom is a big improvement ,but the rest of the cottage is very dated and is decorated in brown throughout, and is rather depressing. Even the bedding in the main bedroom is plain brown. A bit of colour would make the cottage much more desirable!

My husband and I plus our three grandchildren stayed for a week at Engan Gam in 2015 and were really pleased that it was available this year also for the week we wanted. The accommodation has lots of thoughtful touches which we really appreciated. There was a large bathroom with plenty of hot water, shampoo, handwash and cleaning materials. There were night lights to plug into the children's bedroom and the landing where there was also a torch to use if necessary. From the decent size bedrooms we had a lovely view over the fields to the sea. The beds were really comfortable and extra bedding was available if required but the house was warm anyhow as the central heating had been left on timer for us which was also very much appreciated. The boiler was in a large warm airing cupboard in the hall and it came in very useful if we had damp washing to dry off and there was a large adjacent cloakroom. The lounge/dining room was a decent size with comfortable seating. The television however was freeview and not satellite as stated. The kitchen was an adequate size and contained a good supply of cutlery, crockery, pans, casserole dishes etc., plus a toaster and microwave. The oven had electric hot plates and a decent size oven and grill. There were oven gloves and tea towels plus kitchen paper towels and washing up liquid. In a cupboard were some condiments and Mrs Evans had left us a bottle of milk which was really thoughtful of her and much appreciated. The external utility room contained a washing machine plus powder and pegs for the washing line, and a toilet. Just outside the front door were two nice wooden chairs and a wooden table with two benches for dining but we didn't use any of these items. Approx. 10'? in front of the house was a hedge 5 or 6' high with a field behind where the cows were sometimes. We couldn't see over the hedge from downstairs but we could see and hear the cows when they reached over the hedge to nibble. The shared lawned area with a swing was at the far side of the house but nobody else used it other than our grandchildren. However there was nothing for us to sit on other than using our camping chairs then folding them up everytime we drove to the beach. We never saw or heard anyone in the adjoining house so it felt quite private. We would go back to Engan Gam next year but if the weather was warm, dry and sunny, it would be nice to have comfortable chairs to sit on in the lawned garden.
