the central heating was not working properly, if you had the fire on the heating would not come on at all. it was on a timer, as was the towel rail which was only tepid. the shower did not work, kept going cold. there was no shaver point in the bathroom.

This cottages ticks all our boxes. Ideal location for visiting family. Quick access to m6. Central location for visits to the lakes, local farms (old holly farm was lovely for our young children), Kendal shops and smaller but quaint gift shops in Kirkby Lonsdale (a personal favourite place to visit). Close to the Dales also for three peaks walks. We love Carnforth and really enjoyed having lunch at the refreshment rooms at the station (location for the film A Brief Encounter). There is a lovely playground alongside the canal for the children (beneath the iron bridge). Particularly enjoyed browsing the Rowan Tree Crafts shop. Really loved that Booths was so local (my husband is a big an of their ales selection). Thank you by the way to the owner for the very generous treats she left for us (a bottle of ale and an individual bottle of wine, milk and juice). We have really enjoyed our stay here and felt we had everything we needed in the cottage. Very warm and cosy (no need to bring extra blankets). We will most definitely stay here again.
