We had a wonderful holiday over Christmas 2015. I love this cottage and would live here if I could. The weather wasn't great as we arrived in the middle of the floods and the closure of the A591. This had an impact on the activities we had planned, like going to Keswick. However, the whole week was wonderful. Just the two of us as it turned out - due to the flooding. A very peaceful, quiet Christmas. Having stayed here a year and a half ago, I am disappointed to see that the two settees are still in place as they definitely need replacing. The washer dryer that was advertised as being insitu turned out not to have a dryer. With the weather as it was a dryer would have been most useful. Lovely to arrive and find a Christmas tree in place.

Lovely cottage and location, although it's never going to be private in the front garden due to almost constant flow of Chester's customers. The kitchen can get chilly, due to the storage heater not working. The bottom of the shower curtain was mouldy, the kitchen door sticks, there are cobwebs and the sofas are long past their best. These minor gripes did not spoil our holiday (the fantastic weather helped!) but the cottage had been given four stars and these things should be rectified so that the cottage truly earns those stars.

It was well maintained in a peaceful location and very comfortable. I would recommend it to anybody. The birds liked the food.

A charming cottage in a fantastic location for exploring the Lakes,by car or by foot as there are many walks accessible from the location itself and for people of all abilities. The decor and furnishings are a little dated but may appeal to some. The only concerns for our stay were that the bath/shower could do with a slip mat for safety, and also the electric kettle was somewhat unreliable, and needs replacing. This was our second visit to Edna's Cottage and will most likely be making future visits as the location is the star of this little holiday home.

Had fantastic break in this wonderful cottage. Enjoyed the location. It was very good for family friendly and low level walks. The cottage was well equipped and has a super range in the lounge. It also has a window seat in the lounge which provides close up views of the birds in the garden and the woodpecker who would visit the bird table each day! There were many people walking past the cottage most days as it is next to the excellent Chester's cafe and the Cumbrian Way but this did not worry us. Most were simply enjoying the outdoors like we love to do. The bin collection was the only aspect we did not find information on and were unsure of what to do with our general rubbish and recycling.
