We had it for a week in October and it was a warm and comfortable home for the half term break. There were a few things that would have been useful to have available but generally, we were happy with the accommodation and it was well placed for exploring the area. Handy having somewhere to eat so close at hand too.

this was for a family get together and it was ideal. Great location for walks. Comfortable with plenty of parking. The oven and hob are a bit of a challenge but apart from that its well equipped. Easy walking to shops, pubs etc but we cooked and ate in the cottage and cooking was not an issue

Excellent location and the cottage is very nice just let down by silly things that the owners [Bells Hotels] should have sorted out. The cat flap in the conservatory was basically a hole in the wall and should have been permanently repaired not covered by an oven tray with a weight against it. The description of the property on the website is incorrect. The double bedroom has the bidet and the twin does not and the shower is over the bath in the twin. The garden is not enclosed and needs a small gate to enclose it. The pictures on the website do not do the property justice it is much nicer than it appears. Could do with more dessert spoons, kettle dirty and cobwebs behind the front door because they leave it open when cleaning and don't see the cobwebs. Very clean otherwise. Good points - very comfortable beds, heating which we needed on a couple of mornings very efficient. Lovely walks over the golf course with the dog but stick to the public footpaths and keep away from the greens and bunkers please. [former golfer] Despite my criticism I would be happy to book it again as we had a great week.

We had a lovely holiday here and would definitely come back. We took the house and the farmhouse, and both were spacious and in a great location. We also felt we had had great value for money. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, and it was all very easy. The Forest of Dean is a wonderful location for a holiday with children - lots to do. Some of the items on the inventory weren't there - kitchenalia type stuff, but because we had two houses, we could usually find what we wanted in one of them, but maybe the inventory could be checked again. When I arrived with a pre-made dinner and switched the oven on to heat it up, there was a burning smell and some smoke where it hadn't been cleaned after previous guests had had something bubble over, and the washing machine in the farmhouse made a terrible noise and tore a duvet cover from home that we had washed. But these were minor niggles, and did not spoil the holiday in any way. We had a magic time and got more than we expected for what we paid, so although we left some suggestions for a few repairs and replacements, our experience was very positive.

Needs a bit more of a clean as there were dead flies everywhere in the conservatory. Could do with a new frying pan!!! Its scratched to bits so not non stick anymore. Doesnt cost much to replace. Surroundings are.great and the hotel amenities are fantastic.

The cottage was immaculate . If I have a criticism it was that there was only one teaspoon and the conservatory was too cold to use as a dining room .
