Situated within the grounds of the Bells Hotel and Golf Course, these three terraced holiday properties, Edenwall Farmhouse(ref. 27529), Edenwall House(ref. 27530) and Edenwall Cottage(ref. 27531), all offer homely accommodation from which to explore the delights of the surrounding area. Guests can enjoy the facilities at the hotel with restaurant and bar meals available, an 18-hole golf course with discounted rates and a clubhouse where entertainment is often provided. Ramble in the Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its many beautiful walks, ponds and picnic areas. There is an abundance of wildlife and fabulous pathways for cycling. Symonds Yat Rock is a great place for climbing and is also famous for its nesting peregrine falcons, with stunning views along the Wye Valley. Fishing, riding and canoeing are widely available. Local attractions include Go Ape high wire adventure, Puzzlewood, the Dean Forest Steam Railway, Sculpture Trail and Clearwell Caves.     Absolutely perfect accommodation for what we were looking for. Spacious, clean and great location. Everything was in perfect working order and although a large cottage, the whole building was nicely heated when we needed it to be. Will definitely be going back :)

    2nd time we stayed. We love it. There are things that need sorting out, mattresses are really bad and a lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss. The inventory needs looking at as things are missing and not replaced, but it’s not a show home it’s comfortable overall and location is good. Love it!

    We have stayed here before back in the summer as is the perfect location to meet up with friends who live in different parts of the uk. The house is a great size which accommodates 6 easily and a dog and in an amazing location. The house is well equipped with kitchen utensils etc and has a homely feel. Our weekend in the farmhouse was one full of adventures to say the least ! It’s sad as it’s such a lovely house but really does need some attention and updating, some of the beds you can feel all the springs making them uncomfortable, the front of a cupboard is off in the kitchen. There is a big chunk of plaster missing off the wall in the lounge. The glass plate in the microwave doesn’t fit properly making everything wobble when going round. The conservatory blinds could do with being replaced and the windows cleaned. It would be nice to have a blind at the kitchen for some privacy. When we arrived after a few hours the boiler went off and the house rapidly lost temperature and was freezing and the middle floor had no lights as the trip switch had blown and wouldn’t reset. The hotel staff were amazing and quickly sent someone round to try and sort it out, the heating got sorted and was then fine for the rest of the weekend, the lights after the poor man changed every light bulb and still it wouldn’t work, the hotel offered us hotel rooms to stay in but that would of spoilt our weekend being in hotel rooms rather than sitting in a house chatting and socialising, so we did decline the offer and said we could manage with no lights ( we did have a few bed side lamps ) and was quite funny showering by torch light ! The lights never did get sorted while we were there and I’m guessing their is some electrical fault that needs fixing! Then the snow hit Coleford and lots of it ! 8-12inches ! We couldn’t get the cars up the drive to leave, again the hotel were brilliant, they sent someone round with snow shovels but as quick as we shovelled it was coming down heavy again so they let us have the house another night until hopefully the snow had cleared. Eventually by 3pm we managed to get 2 cars out but the others stayed the extra night and the greenkeeper helped them get their cars out in the morning. Although the house has some issues, we would stay again as it’s such a perfect location for us all and the hotel staff were so helpful we couldn’t fault them. Hope by the summer when we will hopefully come again, some of these issues will have been fixed.

    Overall very good, could do with a little TLC. Double bed mattress needs replacing, very uncomfortable. But good value for money.

    This cottage let is sadly lacking in TLC ! 1 The main large picture window in the kitchen has no blind, direct onto car park( not good) 2 The floor below the main gas boiler has pulled away from the wall about 30 m/m floor support must been rotten? 3 Sink front face unit has been pulled off, the back door PIR light does not work 4 Most annoying thing is the main car park light goes on & off all night shines into bedroom needs adjusting! 5 A large piece of plaster is breaking away from wall in the lounge 6 Two windows in the conservatory are broken down 7 We were told on arrival that the washing machine needs replacing 8 There are lots of smaller items that need attention.

    We were a group of friends all meeting up from different parts of the UK for a weekend away together. The farmhouse was HuGe and brilliant for all of us including the dog. The rooms were very spacious, the enclosed back garden was brilliant so we knew the dog was safe at all times while out in the garden. The farmhouse was very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, it was comfortable with plenty of seating areas, lounge, kitchen, sun room and patio furniture in the garden too. There are parts of the house that need some TLC and some updating like the towel rail in the bathroom on the top floor was hanging off, the drawers on the freezer were all broken and had previous occupants food/ice etc in it. There is a hole in the plaster in the lounge! Some of the mattresses were not the most comfortable with springs starting to come through but on the whole it was a lovely location on the golf course with plenty of space. Even with the little niggles that could do with being fixed we have already booked the Farmhouse for another stay later in the year.

    Had a great time 6 of us stayed and not on top of each other. Able to walk the dog from the cottage. Staff very helpful on arrival. Able to watch the Lions test and have breakfast in the clubhouse. All very friendly.
