Description

Situated in an AONB, this holiday property boasts stunning views across the garden and countryside towards the Skiddaw mountain range.

This impressive Georgian country house, with adjoining owners’ annexe, stands in 3 acres of lawned garden in the farming hamlet of Edderside, a small rural community close to the Cumbrian coastline and a sandy beach in Allonby (2 miles). The extensive holiday accommodation has been restored with great attention to detail and style, retaining character and furnished comfortably. It is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with views across the garden and countryside towards the Skiddaw mountain range in the Lake District, and enjoys stunning sunsets towards the Scottish hills from the front. The route 72 national cycle way runs past the house, and countryside and shoreline walks abound. There is a championship golf course at Silloth with others nearby. The Solway marshes are popular with bird watchers and fishermen, nature lovers, and watersport enthusiasts are all well catered for. Alternatively relax in the walled, fenced and gated grounds with plenty of sitting out areas. Centrally located between the lakeside town of Keswick and the historic city of Carlisle (both 23 miles) this is an excellent location for families and groups of friends wishing to explore the Lake District, Scottish Border and Cumbrian Coast. The interesting and traditional market town of Cockermouth (birthplace of Wordsworth) is 11 miles. Shops and pubs 2 miles.

this is a lovely cottage with lots of space inside and outside looking onto beautiful views...we were a family of 19 that stayed here for a week, there was plenty of space for all of us and could have accommodated a few more people, its that big! everything was provided in the big kitchen and i loved the Aga cooker once i got used to it..there was plenty of towels provided for everyone and the three bathrooms were great so no queuing up for the bathrooms lol!! the young ones enjoyed playing on the climbing frame in the big garden.. we visited Keswick which was a 45 min drive, there is a puzzling place there which we all enjoyed a lot and entrance fee was very reasonable... nearby donkeys were a great hit with our grandchildren..

This house was perfect for us celebrating my 30th birthday with family and friends. The gardens were perfect for the kids (both young and older!) The volley ball net provided hours of entertainment as did the wooden play thing in the back garden. Overall a perfect house and location which met all our needs.
