There is meant to be wifi. there was none. I mentioned this to the housekeeper, Carla. She said it works where she lives and that it works outside! I tried outside despite freezing temperatures as I needed to book a train ticket, there was no wifi signal there either. It is mis-selling to say wifi is available and clearly there is none! However if you want no wifi and no phone signal this is the perfect place for peace and quiet. In truth, a little effort of installing wifi that works would make this cottage ideal for a break to Exmoor.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; East Harwood Farm Cottage has never been advertised as having Wi-Fi. This was decided from the offset because in the holiday cottage, the signal is poor. If Wi-Fi was so important, I would have thought it would have been sensible to have booked a cottage which had a good/guaranteed signal. Yes, you did mention it to me and I explained that the signal was intermittent in the cottage plus outside from the offset. I offered for you to use the internet in the main house which has a good signal but you didn't take me up on it. We have rented our cottage out for nearly seven years and the fact that the cottage doesn't get a good Wi-Fi signal has by no means deterred guests from booking it and we've been more than happy with the level of bookings. To summarise, if Wi-Fi is not advertised as being available at the time of booking, then I'm struggling to understand why it could be termed as mis-selling.

Excellent cottage in fabulous rural remote location. Beautiful views, lovely cottage with wonderful interior. Cottage close to Dunster but no local ammenities within walking distance. But hence in remote, peaceful location (with a very friendly doggy welcome). Follow the owners d irections as roads very narrow and no way to turn around. But it is the effort!

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location with amazing views. Hosts were friendly & helpful. If you want complete peace this is the place for you. Local pub however had been shut for 2 yrs but currently being refurbished so eating out & shops were a 10 min drive to Durster but this is a beautiful village to visit anyway. We wish we had longer as could only book for 4 nights. We would definitely return.

Once we got over the "Cold Turkey" of no WiFi (and only those of us on EE having a signal) we "got into the groove of splendid isolation": Lovely views out of the windows, fantastic feeling of quiet, birds of prey hovering over the valley etc etc

This is a fantastic location as long as you have your own car,it is very quiet.Although the place is clean,it would benefit from all the large cobwebs being removed.Take your own loo roll as well,as one was in the house and although the owner gave us another when we asked, apparently you have to get your own.being a bank holiday with three of us,in my opinion seems a bit mean.

Above average but a little let down by the dining table and minimalist chairs
