This cottage is located about an 8 minute drive from Morpeth, which is a lovely town with plenty of good restaurants. It is close to the heritage coastline, which is beautiful any time of the year. On arrival the key was easy to locate and the cottage was very welcoming with a lit fire and a welcome pack including wine, chocolates, sweets and dog treats. We would have preferred bread, milk, eggs and butter but all the same it was appreciated especially by the children and our dog! The cottage has a lovely new bathroom with plenty of hot water at all times. The beds in all rooms were extremely comfortable, too comfortable for teenage children who wanted to spent all day in it! It was a real novelty to cook on the fabulous Aga in the spacious kitchen, which was well equipped. However we would have found it useful to have had hand soap in the kitchen and a dishcloth and bin liners. We were disappointed with the log burner as despite it eating wood it gave out very little heat to the room but was aesthetically pleasing rather than a heat source. We had a great time in the cottage and it made a nice change from holidaying in our touring caravan.

This was a return visit for us and the cottage is still perfect for us and our dog. As there is no WiFi we always take a Dongle to get Internet so no problem there. The property is well situated, very clean and well equipped. We'll be back soon.

We will be back We love this cottage and it meets all our requirements. The Aga is wonderful, beautiful bathroom and enclosed garden which suits our dogs. The bed is enormous. Proximity to the seaside, Morpeth and Newcastle all an advantage. There is a lovely wood to walk in just 10 minutes away. If I am being picky there were a few things missing in the kitchen which would have been useful (scales, grater)and the cd player didn't work which was the same 2 years ago. But having said this, the equipment they do have is top notch quality and spotless. Perhaps leaving a few empty cupboards for visitors own food would help.

A beautiful cottage in the quiet seclusion of Northumberland. Close to Morpeth (Morrisons only an 8 minute drive away), but truly out in the countryside. Close to beaches and within an easy drive of Newcastle/Gateshead, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Kielder. We would return to this cottage in a heartbeat and probably for longer than a week. A great find.

Nice to be back again, enjoyed the peace and quiet. Pity about the weather, but managed to get round and about.
