We loved staying at Dune Cottage. It was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and a great location for the beach. The hot tub is a fab addition, my children loved it. The garden was good size for ball games. The fact it had a washing machine was a great help. The owner was friendly , helpful, approachable and knowledgeable. He is even posting to us a small toy my son left at the cottage which is great. I would stay again. You are literally a 20 walk from the lovely, sandy beach.

Brilliant holiday. Would definitely stay again but maybe not at peak season as the house is attached to an arcade

As a family of 4 adults and two small children, Dune cottage was perfect for us. The place was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. There was plenty to do in the area and the beach is so close too. Even in bad weather we were still able to go outside in the hot tub and enjoy ourselves. What made our holiday even better was the owner’s attentiveness, answering every concern we had and ensuring we were well looked after. After our departure he kindly returned some belongings we had left behind at the cottage. I’d thoroughly recommend this place.

The access road was a bit rough but by turning and reversing into the drive it presented no issue. The weather was cold during our stay but the heating was excellent and individual radiator thermostats meant controlling the temperature was easy. We were very comfortable on the cold evenings. The walks along the beach in winter were just what we wanted. We would definitely book again for a short winter break.

Cottage in nice location and extremely spacious. However it needs some serious work in updating it to bring it into 2017! It feels like it's stuck in the 90's. So much potential. The hot tub was lovely and that was very clean in all fairness. A little bit of care and this cottage could be 5 star!

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your feedback. Dune Cottage was originally the Holiday Parks Owners residence and as such, always kept-in an excellent state of repair. The cottage was completely redecorated from top to bottom two years ago. The white goods, i.e. Cooker, Fridge /Freezer / Washing machine, etc. are less than two years old. The cottage had a complete central heating boiler replacement two years ago. All new carpets upstairs and new laminated flooring downstairs was fitted two years ago. The cottage is professionally cleaned by a company at every changeover and as such, is completely spotless. We do carryout upgrades as and when necessary and of course we appreciate constructive criticism, feedback as such enables us to continually review and improve upon our service.

Nice beach locally & nice man at local cafe serving all day breakfasts On day 1 in the kitchen we saw or 2 ants on work tops but we arrived late in the day, next morning cheerful owners asked if we had settled ok, we had at that point, then.....after going to the beach all the food we left (fresh bread & pastries) were crawling with ants! This isn't one or two this was an army! We threw the food out and thought that was the last of it, we were wrong :-( ants had crawled everywhere in the kitchen and we had to eat out every night, this was annoying as we had purchased lots of meat from our local butchers to come with nice dinners! Day 2 or 3 we were startled by a man letting himself in and then walking across the garden to a store cupboard! (not good if have a dog, could get out) but be prepared for this as other people have commented the same we mentioned the ants and was told "well you get them, don't you" I DONT, does anyone else allow ants in their kitchen? The outside balcony from main bedroom was loose and in our opinion was not safe for young children or even adults so be careful when out there enjoying the view.. Owner natilie offered to send her dad over to look, he said in his visit "old building it needs some slack" I don't think so, we did not use that outside area at all! A 3 year old could of easily shook it and had a accident so we did not use this feature. The owners no longer own the camp site which quite frankly smells of urine as you walk past, maybe let it go a bit but can't blame owners for this, arcade is not open out of season in week but campsite person kindly opened for us for an hour as it was raining quite hard The drive way up to the house, is tricky if you have a car bigger than a toy car to get up the road into the drive Would I recommend, Probably not would be the answer.. Oh and no wifi which can be annoying if you want to access internet unless you have a good data package and it does not matter. It's 3G

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Regarding the situation concerning ants, it was mentioned that a couple of ants had been found, but certainly not an army and as for all the food having to be thrown out?, this was not mentioned to us had it been we would have certainly addressed them. On day three I visited the house and politely knocked on the door for several minutes, although the guests were inside no one came to answer the door, as such, I had to go through the side gate which I locked behind myself, the reason for visiting is to check the Hot-Tubs and I need to get chemicals from the shed in the garden. While I was opening the shed door the guest came-out and asked me who I was, once I explained firstly who I was and secondly my reason for being there, the guest then became very chatty and seemed happy with the property. The guest mentioned the balcony railing, that said, I did explain that it had been painted recently but no mention had been made of looseness?, however, it was also explained that the area in question is an “emergency exit only” and clearly marked as such, so no one should have been playing ball on the flat-roof area anyway. While I was chatting to the guest, I pointed out that there were several lots of dog mess left on the grass, the guest said and I quote: “Don’t worry we will clean that up before we go” unquote. As for the drive-way, I drive an X-5 BMW 4 by 4 and I have no-problem driving down the road, in fact the council bin lorry collects the waste without any problems. Regarding the camp smelling of urine, this would have to be taken up with the camp owners, however, I drive onto the park at least three to four times per-week and I’ve never smelled urine. We do not advertise that we have wifi and so are unsure why it was expected. We are sorry these guests did not enjoy their stay unlike the majority of our guests, as can be evidenced from our other reviews.
