Description

Located just 5 miles to the beach, surrounded by magnificent scenery this beautifully furnished property makes an ideal relaxing break.

Enjoying wonderful views across a large garden down to Holy Loch, guests are invited to go down to the beach and use the decking which is partly covered and gives the opportunity to sit next to the water. This detached, single-storey property with its own garden stands in the village of Strone within the Argyll Forest Park, which is part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Set within its own grounds, it is beautifully furnished and makes a lovely relaxing holiday base. There is a 9-hole golf course in the village and fishing on the loch nearby. Dunoon (10 miles) is a popular holiday resort with many amenities, good sea fishing and ferries to Greenock, from where it is just a short drive to Glasgow. The area boasts a magnificent diversity of scenery, with dramatic peaks, waterfalls, hidden caves and mysterious, forest-covered slopes. Sandy beach 5 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub 10 minutes’ walk.

Loved the fact that the road was behind the cottage so unspoiled views from the living room to the Holy Loch. Lovely to walk down through the garden, through the gate on to the pebbly beach. The kids loved it.

A "home from home" property with every amenity you could possibly need for a week away - all provided by the owners. A very kind welcome gesture of fizz and chocolates and available for any questions as soon as we arrived. The setting was beautiful overlooking the Holy Loch and the bonus of being able to walk through the beautiful gardens of the owners residence next door and the use of the private covered decking area on the edge of the Loch was superb. Local amenities - The Strone Inn (2 mins drive or 10-15 min walk) down the road had lovely home cooked food to order but kitchen open limited times (Thurs-Sat 5-7:30pm and Sun 1-5pm). Great local walks - including Gruffalo trail at Ardkinglas, Benmore Botanical gardens, Aquarium at Loch Fyne, Balloch castle (good play area for kiddies), leisure and swimming facilities perfect at Portavadie marina, Glasgow Science and transport museums worth a visit - ferry trip required - Western Ferries (return £28). Overall the perfect property and location, we would definitely recommend.
