Really enjoyed holiday, although the walls are a bit thin in the cottages you can hear neighbours especially if they have babies crying all night sad to say. The cottages are lovely and location is great.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable, our grand daughters loved it. Situation idyllic , only slight grump was we could have done with more picnic tables on the sunny side of the cottages, we always seemed to miss out at breakfast time. Probably because the beds are so comfy 😀

I enjoyed my stay at Poppy Cottage - Rita was a lovely host. Asked if we needed anything but never intrusive. Her husband too was friendly and chatty. Very lovely people. Location was beautiful....if you are looking for a country getaway this is it. Even the chickens come up to you...more like pets than anything else. Wonderful. My only complaint was the fact that the walls of the cottages are so thin, that you hear absolutely everything next door. One of our next door neighbours decided to have a sing song by himself outside on the back patio at 2am. Then he banged the back door three times to close it. I must have nodded off because the next minute I was woken up by him going up his stairs.....the problem was it sounded like he was in our cottage going up our stairs it was quite frightening to wake up to feeling like there is an intruder in our cottage. Next, he proceeded to make a telephone call that went on till after 3am...I could hear every word - it was like he was in the same room as me. It was disappointing as the location would give you the impression that it was quiet and peaceful which it is but if you are in the cottage, you can hear absolutely everything on either side of you.......which takes away from the "peace & quiet". Perhaps some insulation would help. Also, the cottage sleeps 6 - but only has one bathroom/toilet. As we were a party of two it was okay but if you had 6 people staying in the cottage - it could be a negative with one toilet. There is room in the front hall where the iron is kept that could be turned into a toilet no doubt that may solve that issue. All in all though the stay at Poppy Cottage was fantastic but the thin walls would stop me from returning.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for you kind comments. Since you have been on holiday. We have had the stairs and landing carpeted with acoustic underlay which we hope will resolve the problem.

My only complaint (if that's the right word) is that the drive way is poorly maintained. Other than that the cottage was well appointed, and maintained, the grounds were fab, and the location was ideal for us. Thank you

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; With regard to the road down to the cottages. We have already had it done for the 2016 season, however it is in a working farm location.
