This unique conversion, attached to a traditional farmhouse, is nestled in countryside with lovely views down the Duddon Valley.

Duddon Mews is a traditional Lakeland hideaway, attached to the owner’s farmhouse, and enjoying an idyllic rural location tucked away in the Duddon Valley. Arranged on two floors, there is an open-plan living/dining room/kitchen on the ground floor, while an external stone staircase leading to the first floor gives access to a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. A truly unique property, lovingly restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. The Duddon Valley is a jewel in the crown of Cumbria, situated between Coniston and Eskdale, remote, unspoilt and perhaps the most idyllic corner of the Lake District. The Duddon Valley will delight walkers, moutain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The tiny villages of Ulpha and Seathwaite are two focal points of the valley. At Ulpha there is a post office/village shop, while Seathwaite, situated near the end of the ancient Walna Scar road, boasts a 16th-century inn, where good home-cooked food, real ales and a warm welcome await, all day all year. The property is surrounded by moorland, with wonderful views up the valley and walks from the door. Conveniently located for Ulpha, Eskdale, Boot, Seathwaite and Broughton-in-Furness. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beam. External stone stairs to first floor: Double bedroom, en-suite shower room and toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Satellite TV (Sky, full package). Freesat TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Use of owner’s laundry facilities on request. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi available at £15 per booking. Small enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Natural grounds. Parking (1 car). Just what we were looking for. Privacy and complete peace. Great place for walking Duddon Valley, Eskdale and Wasdale all quieter and as beautiful as the busier areas. This is not a tourist area, we shopped in Broughton, a little more expensive than the supermarket but excellent quality and nearby. Local PO has many essentials for top ups. Won't find masses of places to buy ice cream etc. 😀 Lots of great pubs in the area. Added bonus of having the coast nearby with Million RSPB making a good day out and if wanted and a hot day fabulous beach at Silecroft. Cottage itself, simple and small, all we needed for the two of us with plenty of storage and comfortable bed. One tip would be perhaps to take own pillows but then I always do. Pic taken as I came out of bedroom on morning one.

The cottage enjoys stunning views over the Duddon Valley and hills beyond. Its location is more suited to serious walkers than leisurely holiday makers, eg the nearest pub/restaurant is 3.5 miles and village shop a mile down a very steep road. The kitchen is equipped with the essentials for simple cooking and Sky TV a welcome feature especially on damp days, but within the compact dimensions there is scope for some upgrading; a bigger table and new sofa would greatly enhance the comfort of this cosy and peacefully located cottage

Beautiful location in the middle of nowhere, pleasant owners, welcome basket-including a christmas present! Only downsides stairs outside (which we knew about) and no wifi or phone signal, Would recommend.
