The owner is very pleasant and the milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival were a nice touch. While we found the cottage to be quite comfortable overall, we were not happy with the heavy dark wood panelling in the bedroom which we found oppressive. The shower is shoehorned into the downstairs loo so it's impossible to dry and dress in there meaning you have to go through the kitchen and dining room to go upstairs to dress. The kitchen is cramped with the microwave high on top of the fridge-freezer so you are taking out hot dishes above head height. Not a very safe arrangement especially if we had been any shorter. There was also no legible instructions for any of the appliances. We would have liked more control over when the central heating came on as we were having to dry clothes indoors due to all the rain but I admit we didn't pursue this or the use of the open fires with the owner. Basic satellite TV and WiFi are a definite plus as is the offroad parking at the rear

A lovely old cottage. This is not for you if you want a contemporary, modernised stay, but I thought it was lovely and it was brilliant being able to set a real fire on the chillier evenings. The bedrooms were generously sized and it was brilliant to have an extra toilet / shower room, although the latter is particularly cosy. The main bathroom is huge and the hot water is constant. Lovely location, lovely owners. Within short walking distance of a small local shop, church, Highland museum, a couple of cafes, bus stops, fuel station, bar and loch Leven. Highly recommended.
