32 yrs ago we lived in Fordingbridge for four years & it was nice to return to the tranquillity of the forest. The cottage is literally on the doorstep & it took only minutes in the early morning to take the dog for a walk on Furze Hill, from which the views were spectacular & the wild life plentiful, dear, ponies, cattle & donky's. The cottage was extremely well presented & equipped. After a day out from other areas of the New Forest it was good to return & make use of the garden table, enjoy the sun & relax with a cup of tea. Mobile coverage is poor but there is a landline in the cottage for use with a voluntary donation for the cost of calls. My wife & I like to eat out for evening dinner & I can recommend The Royal Oak just a mile or two away where good food & hospitality abound & they allow dogs in the bar areas, but obviously not the dining room. Hopefully we won't leave it so long again before a return visit.

Drovers Way is totally under rated, this gem in a beautiful location is a great place to stay. Everything I could possibly think of was catered for by Ulli & Tony. Home made flapjacks & jam included in a really useful welcome pack, were delicious. Ulli & Tony know the area well & recommended a couple of wonderful places to visit. Drovers Way is spotlessly clean with quality fixtures & fittings including a huge bed ( 2 singles tied together) & very comfortable. Ulli provides everything from towels, iron, hairdryer, herbs & spices in the kitchen, along with everything to wash dishes etc should you want to cook there is an oven & microwave also a barbecue. This surpassed our expectations would highly recommend this property.

Ulla and Tony were prefect hosts. The cottage / lodge was equiped with everything you could need. It was so clean and tidy with a place for each and every item you'd need in a holiday home. The area was so peaceful and the wild life abundant. A lovely setting that really has to be experienced to be appreciated. Could not recommend this cottage more if we tried. Thanks for a truely lovely relaxing break. Kev and Jackie

Excellent throughout,a comfortable cottage set in a rural idyll. Every amenity you could wish for and very friendly and welcoming hosts. Easy access to all areas of the New Forest ,with several good Pubs nearby serving evening meals. To see the Donkeys, horses and cows wandering through the villages is a sight to behold.
