Would definitely stay again but not in the summer when the price rises substantially. Too expensive for just two of us. Extremely comfortable cottage. Loved the location and all the very pretty surrounding villages. Lots of lovely walks along local beaches too. It was a shame that the main garden was a distance from the cottage but it did not matter for a winter break

One of the best holiday cottages we've stayed in

A comfortable well equipped cottage in a peaceful location. Great base for walks or touring the area. Pro's - excellent kitchen with all amenities; plenty of space downstairs with 2 rooms; a downstairs cloakroom; plenty of on street parking and a very quiet road traffic wise; good pub serving excellent food 100 yards away; a useful welcome pack left by the housekeeper with some basics to get you started - tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits, cake Cons - third bedroom is very small and has no hooks or wardrobe to hang clothes. Might be ok for a small child but our party comprised 3 adults; En suite to main bedroom has a stylish but totally impractical wash basin ( not really a basin as only about an inch deep and has no plug/plughole just a small slot so tap has to run all the time to wash hands/face); a couple of bits of basic maintenance overlooked - handle to cloakroom kept dropping off and towel ring in ensuite was in a drawer having come of the wall at some point in the past.

Over all the cottage is very pleasant although maybe be a little expensive going at peck times. Over all size is spacious with the kitchen modern with everthing you will need for you're stay & the bathroom modern too. The thing that could do with sorting out is the back garden, which can be slippery when it gets wet. Where it is, there is not much in the village other than the local pub. The food is good & the staff friendly. The main local beach is about 3 mlies with a mixture of pebbles & sand. The main towns Weymouth, Dorchester & most Poole are at max a 30min drive. Like most places if the weather's good the holidays good. Given the opportunity I would come back again.

Lovely cottage and lovely location. Pub within 5 minute walk. No shops in village however.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. I am pleased you thought the cottage and the village were lovely. There is a village shop open every day at the back of the pub – there’s a sign outside the pub directing you. More extensive facilities can be found in Burton Bradstock and at Abbotsbury, which also has a very good butcher selling home reared meats, a delicatessen, and local produce, 2 miles either way along the coast road. Would also suggest Modbury Farm shop, turn left at the bottom of the road, which is very popular with the locals and also open every day.

Lovely cottage set in a beautiful little village in Dorset. Only disappointment with the cottage was that the 'garden' was a two minute walk away (not connected to the house), therefore we could not let our young children go alone
