Standing alone on a secluded headland, with views and direct access to a sandy beach below, this cosy old holiday cottage has been sympathetically renovated to a very good standard, retaining all of its considerable charm and character. It lies within the Loch Hyne Special Area of Conservation, and has its own natural garden, with lovely coastal walks from the doorstep. Lough Hyne, 4 miles, is an inland sea lake with marine nature reserve and forest walks. There are delightful coastal villages along this section of the Wild Atlantic Way, such as Baltimore, Castletownshend, Union Hall and Glandore, where you will have numerous opportunities to take part in watersports. From Baltimore, you can get ferries to Sherkin and Cape Clear Islands, or take a trip to Fastnet Rock. Skibbereen is just under 4 miles away and has a very good choice of pubs, restaurants and shops, along with an 18-hole golf course, heritage centre and farmers’ country markets on Friday and Saturday. Shop and restaurant 3¾ miles, pub 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with rugs on quarry-tiled floor/kitchen. Separate toilet. Narrow staircase to first floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with rugs on wooden floor and sloping ceiling. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living/dining room (initial fuel included). NSH and electricity by meter reading. Bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. No TV (no reception). CD. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Wi-fi. Payphone. Natural garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Ample parking.

Great cottage in a beautiful location - the pictures don't show quite how amazing the setting is.

Lovely little cottage, comfortable and well equipped and 100 % perfect location. The lady who met us on arrival was pleasant and helpful. It would may be be better if the electricity was included in the price - although the cost was nominal it was a slight intrusion. Would definitely visit again. thank you
