Spacious family home, ideal for larger groups, in the Meon Valley with walks close by, Nelsons Victory within easy reach.

In a wonderful location where far reaching views can be savoured over rolling countryside, this spacious, detached family home offers a perfect holiday base for discovering this scenic part of Hampshire. The large stylishly furnished living room has French doors to the large garden and orchard where plenty of ball sports can be played, plus there is a separate dining area and conservatory. There is a smaller attached property next door where the caretaker resides, and where horses roam in fields and paddocks. Hambledon is the home of English cricket, and is set within the heart of the beautiful Meon Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and where the River Meon meanders through the valley, and miles of walks can be enjoyed. West Meon is a short drive, where there is a popular pub/restaurant, and where Thomas Lord now rests, founder of Lords cricket. Slightly further, East Meon with more pubs and quaint church. Within easy reach are the glorious South Downs, Portsmouth with Nelsons Victory, The Mary Rose, waterside dining, extensive designer shopping, and ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, plus Winchester Cathedral, Southampton with its extensive maritime history, the vast heathland walks/riding in The New Forest, historic Chichester with cathedral and festival theatre, beaches at the Witterings or Hayling Island, the Watercress steam train, Jane Austen’s house, Gilbert White’s house, Birdworld and Marwell Zoo. We were 8 men on a golf holiday for 7 days and we found the house excellent. We have stayed in this type of accommodation before but this was by far the best.
