We adored Drakes Barn. Beautiful barn set within a farm. Fantastic location for exploring East Devon and Dorset. Great local amenities.

Drakes Barn is tucked away in an incredibly lovely patch of lush green countryside, and it serves as a tempting reminder of the appeal of relocation and retirement from urban life. The cottage itself is incredibly charming as well as amply comfortable, and we spent a highly enjoyable week making full use of the kitchen, the fireplace, and other amenities. Caroline and David are incredibly welcoming, well-informed, and helpful on all fronts. The location is also perfect for day-trips down to the coast of Devon and Dorset for meandering walks, days at the beach, and so forth. All in all, Drakes Barn is a real find. I can recommend it in only the strongest terms.

Had a lovely Easter break in this cottage. It felt very cosy with the wood burner just what you need for a relaxing time. Although it's in a very peaceful spot you are not far from places to visit - ideal as we only ha the weekend. Looking forward to our next stay here again soon.

Cosy and cute, this cottage is set in the most peaceful, beautiful location with great walks from the door. The cottage had everything we needed and extra crockery and cutlery so we never ran out. The welcome pack was also very generous. We just stayed 3 nights over new year and the wood burner was a wonderful treat in the extremely cosy living room with the most comfortable sofas. Would definitely return another time.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was in a rural setting which is just what we wanted for a complete switch off and some quality family time. It was very comfortable and we loved spending our evenings playing games in front of the woodburner and watching shooting stars from the lovely courtyard. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Great character cottage, particularly well located as it is peaceful and secluded, whilst only taking a minute in the car to get back to the quiet main road, which is ideal if like us, you wish to go out most days. The owners were a pleasure to meet and very welcoming. We would highly recommend this cottage with the only proviso being the cramped bathroom that one or two others have rightly suggested may not be suitable for some, although did not give us any problem.
