Description

Exeter and its medieval cathedral are a short drive from this rural bungalow, and the Jurassic coastal walk nearby takes you to Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Branscombe.

This detached bungalow is situated down a quiet lane and set within a working farm. The bungalow has been tastefully renovated and well presented. An ideal place for family holidays with the Jurassic coastal walk only 10 miles away which takes in Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Branscombe. Exeter, with its cathedral, university and shops, only 9 miles. Walking can be found on Dartmoor which is close by, as well as many NT places. Exeter also has many museums, the most extensive of which is the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery. But, without a doubt, the jewel in Exeter’s crown is the medieval cathedral, inside is a magnificent vaulted ceiling, stained glass and carved tombs. Along the narrow streets from the cathedral is the commercial heart of the city with one of the best shopping centres in the south west.
Exeter’s historic quayside is a popular tourist attraction. Once a Roman waterway, later a 16th century port and today a city centre riverside resort, it offers a unique collection of shops, restaurants and outdoor activities which blend with the attractive 17th and 18th century warehouses and buildings to give a charming mix of past and present. The South West Coastal Path National Trail runs along the entire length of the Jurassic Coast. The coastal path offers the walker stunning views, with a bird’s eye view of many coastal features. From here you can experience the drama of sheer cliff faces, wonder at the strangely eroded rock formations and above all, the views are truly stunning.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. Utility room. 3 bedrooms: 1 double (6ft) with additional single, 1 twin, 1 single. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Separate toilet.

We had a great stay. Relaxed in the garden. As we were on a working farm we were prepared for the country smells that sometimes occurred. Only minor note main bed could have been a little more comfortable.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Whilst we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay we are sorry that the bed was not entirely comfortable . We are unsure whether the problem was with the style of bed or the mattress. Mattress' are difficult as tastes do vary ,however, we turn them regularly and schedule replacement dates. The mattress on this bed is not old but I will check it carefully.

positive points : good location, clean and reasonably well equipped. negative points: to consider for future visitors, a tumble dryer even a small one. very expensive for young family although grandma was paying.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. Whilst it will not be an immediate purchase we have been considering providing a small tumble dryer and may well do so in the future. It must be noted that your stay was during peak season. We feel that the cost of staying at our property compares well with others given the space, privacy and standard of cleanliness and accommodation offered. We also have many returning guests who consider we offer good value for money.

Had a wonderful week. So peaceful and quiet. The bungalow was lovely, very comfortable and spacious. We had two dogs with us who loved the garden and we all loved the cows as our neighbours. We did not want to leave and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Loved the property and the location . The local roads took a bit of getting used to, as they're very narrow however once we started to find alternative ways of getting around, it couldn't have been better. And we loved seeing the calves looking over in the morning. I actually miss their curious faces. I would definitely go back again.

Very spacious comfortable bungalow on a large plot adjacent to a working farm that was ideal for a large family. Well equipped with all the amenities for a long stay, even with some toys and DVDs that amused are visiting grandchildren. Good location for visiting the surrounding area and close to the sea and nearby town's shops. The owners were very friendly and helped us by permitting access early to drop off luggage to enable us to pickup a member of our party from the airport. Loved our holiday and will be visiting again.
