These well-presented, unusual and comfortable holiday properties consist of a self-contained, ground floor wing of the owner’s detached, 19th-century home, set within its own grounds, and a detached cottage, set within the owner’s grounds. Brilliant, great hosts and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend. We stayed here and made the short commute to Glastonbury each day.

stayed for a few days with my sisters. Upside Down Cottage is very comfortable, very well equiped, lovely fluffy white towels and the wine and milk in the fridge was very much appreciated. Home from home and we will be returning - quiet location - ideal for shopping at Clarks Village.

Lovely cottage, welcoming owners. We would stay here again if we were visiting Somerset. Our son loved the fact that it was 'upside down'.

Unclean cottage. Bathroom really small and uncomfortable and smelt dirty and extractor fan and heater didn't work. Carpets grubby and unclean and generally not maintained well. Had a nice time overall and kitchen very well equipped but noticed that 4 star rating was from 2011 yet other cottage was rated in 2015 and was much cleaner and better maintained. Also very expensive compared to other cottages.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were shocked and upset to read your comments after your stay with us. Especially as we always check with our guests that everything is in order and they are happy with the premises, as we take great pride in presenting our cottages to the highest standard we can manage. If something isn’t working we appreciate it when guests advise us so that we can immediately resolve the problem. As you came during the summer months, I would not have thought that the bathroom heater not working would present a problem – however, we will check this now and ensure that it is in working order for future guests. The shower room is small which is why, at the start of 2016; we added a good sized bathroom to the master bedroom. The master bedroom was then totally refurbished including all the soft furnishings. Carpets are professionally cleaned annually – if there is a spillage or marks (which there have been on the lounge carpet) and I don’t know the cause, it is sometimes (currently the case) very difficult to remove such marks and these have to remain until we are able to access the cottage for a long enough period to treat them thoroughly (i.e. in the low season). As regards to the 4 star rating - our cottages are checked annually by the Holiday Company to ensure that standards are continually maintained to adhere to their 4 star requirements. We have also received the Company’s Gold Awards on a number of occasions.

The cottage as the kids said was really upside down with the beautiful bedrooms/bathrooms downstairs and the living/dining room and kitchen upstairs. We were given a warm welcome by the owner and even had milk and wine in the fridge when we arrived which was a nice touch.

I accidentally hit "no" in response to the question " would you stay again" instead of the definite "YES" I wanted to give . I am so sorry - please correct if you can . Was a lovely comfortable cottage and the hosts were very welcoming . Very convenient for Glastonbury and some lovely local walks .
