Dovecote was a beautiful, cosy little annex tucked away in a nice Wiltshere town. Perfect for a two person getaway, with friendly and accomodating hosts, we would undoubtedly return. Would definitely recommend.

We booked this cottage at a few days notice and looked forward to visiting the New Forest area as we hadn't been there before. I have to say we were not disappointed in the slightest ! What a lovely warm welcome we received on arrival, with a full explanation of how this gorgeous little cottage was laid out. Comfort is important - the bed was huge and very comfy indeed. The décor is very tasteful and befitting to period of the cottage itself. The bathroom is beautiful with complimentary toiletries and a shower you could stay in forever. Perfect for a couple like us with spoilt dog. We hadn't brought any food supplies with us and were delighted to see there was complimentary tea, coffee, milk, eggs, bread, and even chutney to tide us over until we called into the local Coop. All equipment top notch. We had fab internet access when we needed it and the TV had perfect reception. The cottage is dog friendly and our pooch was soon at ease on her bed in the living area. Dog walking is a couple of minutes walk from the cottage - handy for morning and last wees :O), and the pretty village itself is very dog friendly with 3 pubs all within walking distance . We were made to feel welcome by everyone we met in the village actually. The New Forest area has lots to offer and you're not too far away from the coast either. We had a brilliant time during the week we stayed at Dovecote Cottage and would love to go back again in a heart beat. Highly recommended x

The only criticism I can see, is the seating wasn't the most comfortable. Apart from that , I can't fault it.

Lovely little cottage, ideally situated to explore Wiltshire and the New Forest. Well- equipped and cosy, it's a perfect little retreat. Julie and David, the proprietors, were helpful and friendly and were more than happy to recommend pubs and restaurants, etc. It was a lovely midweek break. Very relaxing :-)

nice premises, by no means large, but lovely presentation. Downton a v pleasant small town/large village with beautiful walks by the River Avon, nice pubs, a coop and just minutes from t he forest.

Beautiful cottage in a charming village. Compact but perfectly formed. Owners very welcoming. Dog friendly, with plenty of walks and places to visit. Only small downside is lack of secure outside space to let the dog out - needs to be walked down the lane on a lead, not the best thing when its very late or very early. Would recommend and would book again.

Nice place nice helpful owners. Many appreciated welcome gifts. Gorgeous country style bathroom. A small table in the lounge would be a good idea. Perfect situation between Salisbury and the The New Forest. Only negative point : it is situated on a very busy road
